Noem rejects Pritzker’s call to pause Chicago ICE operations for Halloween

There are no moments too grand or too small that Democrats won’t try to exploit to run interference for illegal immigrants, who play a significant role in their grasp for power.

Illinois Gov. JD Pritzker, a man with clear national interests, wasn’t above using Halloween in a weak attempt to persuade public opinion, only to be thoroughly rejected by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

In a letter to Noem, the Democrat governor asked for a pause in the enforcement of U.S. immigration laws so illegal immigrant children could go trick-or-treating without fear. It was a matter of “human decency,” Pritzker decried at a press conference, after claiming the administration was “terrorizing” children.

“I sent a letter to Kristi Noem and to DHS leadership asking them to pause all of their federal agent operations for the entirety of the Halloween weekend,” he said. “I’m asking for basic human decency. I think their response will be revealing. Give the children and families of Illinois a break.”

Not only did the DHS chief reject Pritzker’s political ploy, but she also explained in an appearance on Fox News’ “America Reports” why it was for the benefit of all children:

“We’re going to be out on the streets in full force and increase our activities to make sure kids are safe,” the secretary said. “Every day in Chicago, we’re arresting murderers, child pedophiles, those who have perpetuated assault and pornography against children.”

“We’re going to be out there to make sure that they can be safe, enjoy the holidays, spend some time with their families and their neighbors and their communities, and they don’t have to be the victim of a crime because of these illegal aliens that are in our country victimizing them,” she continued.

Noem blasted the governor at a press conference, when she said of his request, “The fact Gov. Pritzker is asking for that is shameful…We want to make sure that people are safe.”
