Amid recent reports that the publisher of Sports Illustrated was firing the entire staff at the magazine that brought inclusivity — see oversized women — to its famed annual swimsuit edition, they appear to have kept at least one photographer on board.
Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs star QB Patrick Mahomes, was named a 2024 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit rookie and she was featured in a sultry photo shoot that will appear in SI’s 60th anniversary edition in May.
“As a girl from Tyler, Texas, who only really knew sports, never in a million years did I think I’d be in the SI Swimsuit Issue,” Brittany told the magazine. “I’m just so grateful for this opportunity.”

Brittany married Patrick Mahomes in 2022. The couple dated since high school and have two children, a daughter named Sterling Skye Mahomes and a son named Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.
It’s fair to say that the 28-year-old mother of two who played soccer at the University of Texas at Tyler and is the co-owner of an NWSL team, the Kansas City Current, can still turn heads.

“I want women to feel empowered to always be yourself, love yourself and feel confident in whatever you do, and I think SI Swimsuit does, too,” Brittany said.
“Be confident in who you are and be unapologetically yourself,” she continued. “People are going to love you or hate you, but finding your values and what makes you ‘you’ to be the best version of yourself is what really matters. Whether that’s health and wellness, being a great wife or mom or career goals, being the best version of you is the most important thing you can be.”
Brittany found herself drawing far more attention than before when she started sitting alongside pop diva Taylor Swift for Chiefs games at Arrowhead Stadium — Swift is supposedly dating Chiefs player Travis Kelce. As one of the singer’s new besties, the two are often seen celebrating KC touchdowns because game cameras look for any opportunity to pan to Swift.

News of the photo shoot comes just days before Kansas City takes on the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII. The game is being played in Las Vegas and the Chiefs are the underdog even though they are the reigning champions — as if Mahomes needed any extra motivation.
“It kind of lit a fire under some guys, including myself,” Mahomes said.
For the record, he is 9-3 as an underdog, representing the best winning percentage of any quarterback with a minimum of 10 starts over the past 15 seasons — playoffs included.
