House Speaker Nancy Speaker reportedly said Friday that it’s “important” for the public to recognize President Joe Biden’s “brilliance” in his handling of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
“I think it’s really important for people to understand the brilliance with which President Biden is conducting this. This is a man served decades as chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee. He knows the arena. He knows the personalities,” she told reporters, according to Fox News’ Chad Pergram.
The remarks came roughly an hour before the U.S. president reportedly jetted off for another mini-vacation in Delaware.

Pelosi on Biden/Ukraine: I think it’s really important for people to understand the brilliance with which President Biden is conducting this. This is a man served decades as chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee. He knows the arena. He knows the personalities.

Joe Biden is now scheduled to LEAVE the White House TODAY at 5:30pm to spend the weekend in DELAWARE.

Pelosi’s remarks were likewise made amid reports that the situation in Ukraine has grown so dire that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has banned men between the ages of 18 and 60 from leaving the country, ordering them to instead be drafted to fight.
Not that an order was necessarily even needed. Former Ukrainian first lady Kateryna Yushchenko shared a photo on social media late Thursday of an 80-year-old man who’d voluntarily enlisted to fight the invading Russians.
“Someone posted a photo of this 80-year-old who showed up to join the army, carrying with him a small case with 2 t-shirts, a pair of extra pants, a toothbrush and a few sandwiches for lunch. He said he was doing it for his grandkids,” she wrote.

Ukrainian families have meanwhile been crowding subway stations in a desperate bid to avoid being bombed or crushed to death.
Pelosi’s remarks came a few hours after Zelenskyy delivered a speech decrying Western leaders like Biden for “watching from afar” and not doing “enough” to stop Russian President Vladimir Putin from invading his country and killing his people.
“This morning we are defending our state alone, as we did yesterday. The world’s most powerful forces are watching from afar. Did yesterday’s sanctions convince Russia? We hear in our sky and see on our earth that this is not enough. Foreign troops are still trying to become more active in our territory,” he said.
“Only the solidarity and determination of Ukrainians can preserve our freedom and protect the state. The army, border guards, the National Guard, the police, intelligence, the Territorial Defense Forces. … The fate of Ukraine depends only on Ukrainians. No one but ourselves will control our lives.”
While he didn’t name names, even The Daily Beast — a far-left outlet — saw the writing on the wall:

Note what Zelensky had said about the sanctions: “We hear in our sky and see on our earth that this is not enough.”
Indeed, Biden has been facing widespread criticism, even from his usual media enablers, for his refusal to drop the hammer sanction-wise.
And so given all that’s happening, and given the U.S. president’s “weak” response, many in the public were befuddled by Pelosi’s calls for them to recognize the president’s supposed “brilliance.”
Look:
If he were brilliant, there would be no war in Ukraine.

He had months to act. Reacting after the fact, never proactive. Understand no boots on the ground, but we could have added a lot of air support.

Oh, I see, doing nothing, fumbling and cowering is the new “brilliant.” I guess the bar was pretty low to begin with.

Explain to me the brilliance in allowing a country to build up their forces at a border and then after they attack- sanction them???

You may want to pass that confidence you have in him along to the Ukrainians sleeping in subway stations. His plan seems to be working perfectly

Lol….We continue buying oil from Russia. We won’t kick them out of international banking system and we’ve shut down our own energy production while gas prices skyrocket but that’s “brilliance”? Just another day of stupid from Pelosi.

But Pelosi’s certainly not the only member of the left who’s celebrating the U.S. president’s supposed “brilliance” as Ukraine literally burns.
Case in point:
It’s worth noting that #Biden is the 1st US POTUS not to fold for Putin
He’s masterfully handled diplomacy by releasing classified assessments of what we know of Putins game.
He’s rallied NATO & our allies to a heightened state of alert not seen since since the BLITZ#FreshWords— Nic #VetsResist🇺🇸🏳️🌈 #UniteBlue (@P4boxers) February 26, 2022
Meanwhile in reality:
President Biden’s overall approval is 42%, disapproval 53%. On his handling of the economy, it’s 38% approve, 57% disapprove. On immigration, 33% approve, 55% disapprove. And on foreign policy 37% to 54%.
