Police thwart transgender suspect’s alleged plans for mass shooting event in Las Vegas

A man pretending to be a woman was arrested in Las Vegas for plotting a mass shooting on the densely populated Vegas Strip.

Allison Howlett, a so-called “transgender woman,” was outed as a threat when Las Vegas Police received a domestic dispute call on June 27 from his spouse reporting that he’d run off in a stolen vehicle jam-packed with guns and that he’d been threatening to commit a mass shooting and “suicide by cop.”

Using vehicle tracking information, the police tracked the car to the parking garage of the Sunset Station Casino, according to station KVVU.

When confronted, Howlett refused to comply — instead he turned up the car’s audio player and ignored the officers’ repeated commands.

“Police said officers fired a less-lethal 40mm round that missed before breaking the driver’s side window and using a taser to take [him] into custody,” according to station KSNV.

Inside the vehicle, the officers found 22 firearms, including handguns, rifles, suppressors, and ammunition.

The police also found 30 firearms in Howlett’s home, including rifles, grenade launchers, suppressors, and thousands of rounds of ammunition. Howlett’s so-called wife, a man named Julie, told the police that Howlett had been making threats of mass violence since 2024.

Howlett was reportedly so disturbed that he’d don body armor and firearms during arguments and then threaten to kill masses of people. Julie managed to reportedly record one of these outbursts from January 2024 in which Howlett had threatened to commit a mass shooting if the FBI failed to arrest him.

“It should be noted that the suspect had been sitting on a handgun and had access to a fully automatic, silenced MP5-style machine gun in the back seat of the vehicle, further corroborating the reported threats of suicide by cop and having the means to carry out a mass shooting,” Henderson Police Chief Reggie Rader said during a news conference Tuesday, according to Fox News.

Howlett now faces charges of making a threat related to an act of terrorism, assault with a deadly weapon, grand larceny, resisting a public officer with a firearm, and multiple weapons-related offenses.

As for all the guns in Howlett’s home and the stolen car (which was owned by Julie), Julie explained that he, in fact, sells guns.

He told KVVU that he’s a gun dealer and had been in the process of transporting a bunch of his goods when Howlett ran off with the vehicle.

Howlett is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.

Meanwhile, anger is beginning to mount over the media’s insistence on referring to Howlett and Julie as women.
