‘Quit covering for these guys!’ Lindsey Graham blasts CNN’s Dana Bash over Dems’ late-term abortion push

Democrats took their fight to defend the sanctity of abortion to the airwaves two days after the far-left party notched a big win when the Supreme Court intervened to temporarily block a ruling that could have affected access to a drug that is popular with women seeking to terminate the lives of their unborn babies, and CNN’s Dana Bash’s typically biased take was slapped down by Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) who called her out over taking sides.

On Sunday’s edition of “State of the Union,” the Palmetto State lawmaker was grilled by Bash who after an initial foreign policy question, quickly turned to abortion, a reliable motivator of the Democrat base and a welcome distraction from the Biden regime’s woes, peppering Graham with questions about a national ban on abortion, a phantom issue that is being used to whip up the base in advance of next year’s election.

Graham, who did the opposition a big favor with last year’s ill-advised, poorly-timed bill to implement a ban on abortions after fifteen weeks, a move that drew criticism from other Republicans and energized demoralized Democrat voters two months before the midterms, was put on the spot by the host over the ongoing legal battle over the availability of the mifepristone abortion pill.

During the back and forth, she rolled a video clip of comments by former VP Mike Pence – who is a devoutly religious man – disagreeing with the Trump campaign that abortion is a state issue and that the “sanctity of life” should be embodied in the center of U.S. law, Bash flipped into “gotcha” mode, peppering the senator to get him on the record on whether he was in agreement with the ex- veep’s viewpoint.

Graham responded by setting the record straight on his own support of restricting late term abortions, a view held by a majority of Americans who disapprove of the “barbaric” practices of killing the unborn child during advanced stages of pregnancy but Bash wasn’t deterred in lobbying for Democratic party policies, at one point prompting a heated respose from Graham who clearly was losing his patience over being jerked around by the so-called journalist.

“It’s a human rights issue…,” he said. “At fifteen weeks you have a developed heart and lungs and to dismember a child at fifteen weeks is a painful experience, it’s barbaric, it’s out of line with the rest of the civilized world. Only North Korea and China allow abortion on demand up to the moment of birth… what the Democratic party proposes on abortion is barbaric,” adding that he welcomes the debate over late-term abortions.”

Bash, interrupted, saying that “just for the record, Roe went up to viability.”

NO! NO! NO! Quit covering for these guys!” Graham shot back, having finally reaching the limits of what he was willing to take.

“NO! NO! NO! You’re media, you keep covering for these guys! They introduced legislation that allowed abortion on demand with taxpayer-funded…up to the moment of birth. That was their position in Washington. That’s the law they want to pass, and nobody in your business will talk about it. It’s barbaric,” Graham said, decisively smacking down Bash’s narrative.
