The dawn of a new four-letter word saw Robert F. Kennedy Jr. share his take on “What ‘MAGA’ really means.”
“This is the America they want to restore.”
After scaring off corporate media during his campaign suspension announcement that took no prisoners when calling out the Democratic Party, Big Everything and the establishment writ large, the newly-minted supporter of former President Donald Trump fully embraced the role of surrogate.
Hoisting the standard as a champion for the health and well-being of the nation, Kennedy rolled out a pitch to “Make America Healthy Again” with a MAHA hashtag as he recalled “a nation brimming with vitality.”
“What ‘MAGA’ really means,” the environmental attorney began a message viewed over 2 million times Sunday morning.”The phrase has troubled liberals who think it is a call for a return to an America before civil rights, gay rights, and women’s rights. But I have a more generous interpretation, one that is truer to my experience of Donald Trump as he is today.”

“‘Make America Great Again’ recalls a nation brimming with vitality, with a can-do spirit, with hope and a belief in itself,” continued Kennedy. “It was an America that was beginning to confront its darker shadows, could acknowledge the injustice in its past and present, yet at the same time could celebrate its successes.”
“It was a nation of broad prosperity, the world’s most vibrant middle class, and [an] idealistic belief (though not consistently applied) in freedom, justice, and democracy. It was a nation that led the world in innovation, productivity, and technology. And,” he made careful note, “it was the healthiest country in the world.”
“I have talked to many Trump supporters. I have talked with his inner circle. I have talked to the man himself. This is the America they want to restore,” he concluded.
Amid Kennedy’s remarks Friday in Arizona before he went on to join the president at his rally in Glendale, Arizona, the former independent candidate had torched the “sham primary” from the Democratic Party before stating his campaign had “changed the national political conversation forever. Chronic disease, free speech, government corruption, breaking our addiction to war have moved to the center of politics.”
“Two-thirds of American adults and children suffer from chronic health issues,” he had asserted while laying out a number of problems that had seen an increase akin to the rise in ultra-processed foods and pharmaceutical solutions.
“We will make Americans healthy again,” promised Kennedy. Within four years, America will be a healthy country. We will be stronger, more resilient, more optimistic, and happier. I won’t fail in doing this. Ultimately, the future, however it happens, is in God’s hands and in the hands of the American voters and those of President Trump. If President Trump is elected and honors his word, the vast burden of chronic disease that now demoralizes and bankrupts the country will disappear.”
“This,” he added Friday, “is a spiritual journey for me.”
While it remains to be seen how the Kennedy endorsement will impact the polls at the same time that Vice President Kamala Harris had garnered a week of gushing from corporate media during the Democratic National Convention, he shared a post from the Trump campaign where senior adviser Tim Murtaugh addressed how even a small impact would prove tremendous in the battleground states.
“In a state like Pennsylvania,” said Murtaugh on NewsNation, “where it could well come down to tens of thousands of votes — a half-point or three-quarters of a point — that may well make the difference.”
“This,” said Kennedy, “is only the beginning. Wait till you see the next additions to President Trump’s Unity Government. #UniteAmerica #MAHA.”
