RFK Jr recounts effort to reach out to Kamala, warns Americans on what they’d be electing

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. delivered a blistering take on Vice President Kamala Harris’s refusal to meet with him or give a formal interview since she took over the top slot of the 2024 Democratic Party ticket.

In a lengthy interview covering a multitude of topics, Kennedy spoke with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson about the political landscape and the coming election. The former Democrat suspended his own presidential campaign last week after running as an Independent, throwing his support behind Republican nominee Donald Trump and joining him at a rally in Arizona.

Among other criticisms of the current administration, Kennedy took aim at Harris for the unprecedented number of days the Democratic nominee has gone without holding a formal interview or press conference since Biden handed her the baton in July. Despite the family legacy behind his name, RFK Jr. has not been able to secure a meeting with the VP either.

“I reached out to her and I reached out to a number of people, including some relatives of mine who are very, very close to her personally and the Democratic Party,” Kennedy told Carlson, explaining that he was told it would be to no avail to try to meet with Harris.

“There’s no way in the world that she’s going to talk to you,” they told him.

“They said we can get you a meeting with a low-level campaign official and I said, ‘Okay, I’m interested in that,'” Kennedy continued, suggesting the reason she will not meet with him is the same as why she has not done interviews.

“It seems to me that there’s a lot of handlers involved,” Kennedy said, “and even when you talk to Democrats about, you know, ‘Do you really think it’s a good idea to be electing somebody who cannot give an interview?’ they say, “Well…you’re electing the people around her.'”

He explained that, instead, the votes are to elect “the apparatus.”

He noted how this machine is what has been driving the party and the Biden-Harris administration, censoring and attacking political enemies while driving the nation closer to war.

“First of all, electing an apparatus is not how democracy works,” Carlson interjected. “That’s an oligarchy.”
