‘So sleazy’: AP deletes ‘fact check’ fueling lurid and RIDICULOUS sexual allegation against JD Vance

The leftist Associated Press is facing backlash for running an unnecessary fact-check about vice-presidential candidate Senator J.D. Vance.

Published Wednesday, the fact-check sought to debunk the stupid, dumb, inane claim that Vance had written about having sex with a couch in his best-selling memoir, “Hillbilly Elegy.”

The claim went viral thanks to leftist know-nothings like Kathy Griffin blindly bandying it about for partisan political gain.

Case in point:

According to the Daily Mail, the rumor began with a now-private  X account, @rickrudescalves.

“Can’t say for sure but he might be the first VP pick to have admitted in a NY Times bestseller to f***ing an inside-out latex glove shoved between two couch cushions,” the account had reportedly tweeted.

As supposed evidence to back up this fringe claim, the account referenced fake pages from Vance’s memoir. And then leftists bought it hook, lie, and sinker, which of course is typical.

Now, to the AP’s credit, it did seek to defend Vance, right? But the problem, critics say, is that Vance didn’t need defending in the first place because this claim about him was so dumb that nobody believed it.

Noah Rothman, a writer for National Review, explained the criticism with the following: “Last night, the AP published a ‘fact-check’ of utterly unknown nobodies who alleged that JD Vance fornicated a couch, not because anyone believed that but because it introduces that nonsense into the bloodstream. Today, it’s gone. So sleazy.”

In other words, the theory is that the AP purposefully fact-checked the stupid claim simply to bring the claim to more people’s attention.

And indeed, it’s no surprise that leftists have been relishing in the AP’s now-deleted fact-check.

Leftists reveling in lies and deceit is of course no shocker. It’s exactly how the modern Democrat Party operates.

In a statement, the AP said, “The story, which did not go out on the wire to our customers, didn’t go through our standard editing process. We are looking into how that happened.”

The AP for its part has a history of attacking Republicans. In May, for instance, the AP complained about the Republican Party’s concern over the growing phenomenon of noncitizen voting.

“Voting by people who are not U.S. citizens already is illegal in federal elections and there is no indication it’s happening anywhere in significant numbers,” the hit piece read.

“Yet Republican lawmakers at the federal and state levels are throwing their energy behind the issue, introducing legislation and fall ballot measures. The activity ensures the issue will remain at the forefront of voters’ minds in the months ahead,” it continued.
