‘Squad’ member Cori Bush skewered after likening herself to Rosa Parks: ‘Asinine and narcissistic’

“Look at me! I’m oppressed!” Missouri “squad” member roasted for self-aggrandizing comparison to civil rights icon “in our fight for liberation.”

Friday marked the 68th anniversary of arguably the most well-known act of defiance of the civil rights movement when on Dec. 1, 1955 42-year-old Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to abide by segregation laws aboard a Montgomery, Alabama bus.

Ramping up the victimhood rhetoric, Missouri Rep. Cori Bush (D) commemorated the anniversary with a quote from Parks’ biography and an “asinine and narcissistic” self-comparison that stirred social media.

“‘People always say that I didn’t give up my seat because I was tired, but that isn’t true…No, the only tired I was, was tired of giving in.’ 68 years ago, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus,” posted Bush on X. “We must continue to refuse to give in, in our fight for liberation.”

Hardly the first time that the race-baiting congresswoman had pumped up a CRT-skewed view of society to bolster her persona as a social justice warrior, reactions to the post reminded Bush that her duties demanded she stop living in the past and serve all her constituents.

“You’re fighting a fight that was won 68 years ago. Why don’t you deal with today problems for all your constituents?” asked one user as another wondered pointedly, “What rights don’t you have?”

Another remarked, “Liberation from what? Honoring the past is admirable while failing to honor progress made by ones predecessors is not. As a member of the House of Representatives, you’d be better served liberating yourself from battles already won to focus on the issues impacting Americans today.”

While opinions came in from all corners of the internet, the progressive lawmaker also took heat from her own constituents as a user drafted a brief, yet thoroughly scathing missive that read, “Congresswoman, Please focus on crime reduction in Saint Louis. Thank You, Max — Voter, MO-01.”

Facing multiple FEC complaints for allegedly misusing campaign funds, including to benefit her now-husband Cortney Merritts, and having a history pumping up hoaxes and pushing a narrative of white supremacy and institutionalized racism in modern America, others boiled the post down to its finest point to point out the absurdity of Bush likening herself to Rosa Parks.

“Comparing yourself to Rosa is the most asinine and narcissistic thing I’ve seen in a while,” said one user.

Another wrote, “Pretty sure Rosa is rolling her grave at you using her to grift like this,” as someone else simply stated, “You ain’t no Rosa Parks.”

Further still, an X user managed to mock the desperate effort by the sitting lawmaker with committee assignments and appearances on corporate media to align herself with Parks by mocking, “Look at me! I’m oppressed!”

Meanwhile, Bush has been among those dubbed the Hamas caucus for continuing to stand for the wishes of the terrorists in the Middle East in opposition to Israel’s sovereign right to defends itself after the Oct. 7 terror attack.
