While the left is having a meltdown over President Donald Trump keeping his campaign promise to tackle illegal immigration in the United States, some people are doing what they can to help out.
A man on X, identified only as a substitute teacher, encouraged Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to come to the Northside High School in Fort Worth, Texas. In his post, he claims he has “many students who don’t speak English and they are in 10th-11th grade.”
The account @HookEm232, which made the comments, went private amid the controversy but users were able to grab a screenshot of his message and began to circulate it on other platforms.
The Fort Worth Independent School District announced that they had launched an investigation into the matter and assured students and parents that they are taking it “very seriously.”
“Please be assured that we are taking this situation very seriously and are committed to resolving it as quickly as possible,” said School board president Roxanne Martinez in a statement.
According to the New York Post, two-thirds of all students in Fort Worth public schools are “Hispanic and more than one in three students is learning English as a second language.”
The substitute teacher who allegedly made the post will not be teaching during the course of the investigation, and their name has not been officially released to the public.
This is not the first time a teacher from Fort Worth has appealed to immigration authorities for help. An English teacher from Carter-Riverside High School named Georgia Clark wrote several social media posts asking Trump for help removing “illegal students from Mexico” in 2019.
“Mr. President, Fort Worth Independent School District is loaded with illegal students from Mexico. Carter-Riverside High School has been taken over by them,” she wrote in one post.
An investigation was launched into her posts, which Clark said she had believed were private before the school voted to fire her.
It remains to be seen if the substitute teacher will share her fate.
