‘They’ve told us who they are – believe them!’ Richard Grenell sounds alarm on red flag deal

Former Acting Director of the United States National Intelligence Richard Grenell took to Twitter on Sunday to respond to the breaking news that a bipartisan group of U.S. senators reached an agreement on gun control legislation — the group included 10 squishy Republicans.

Among the factors included in the legislation was an expansion of red flag laws that allow courts to temporarily take away a gun from someone who is deemed to “pose a danger to others or themselves,” as Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., explained Sunday in announcing the deal.

It is here that Grenell saw fit to remind those on the right that under the radical progressive standards that govern today’s Democratic Party, this would include ALL of them.

“The same people who call every Republican ‘deplorables’ ‘Russia apologists’ ‘racists’ ‘homophobes’ ‘insurrectionists’ and who work to cancel dissenting views now want us to trust them to decide who should be on a Red flag list,” he wrote.

Keep in mind that Democrats managed to weaponize the FBI under Trump and exploit their power throughout the pandemic to impose unprecedented restrictions on the country, all in the name of an emergency. All of this clearly fresh on Grenell’s mind.

“They’ve already showed us how they manipulate & abuse government power. And now they want federal powers to decide who is dangerous. Are you kidding me? They think every Republican is dangerous. They want us added to No Fly lists already,” he said.

Grenell concluded: “They are already trying to shut down the cloud to certain Republicans. They want the banking system to review our purchases. They’ve told us who they are – believe them!”
