Trans-identified male student charged with assault of 2 female students in school bathroom

The concerns many parents had about allowing biological males who fantasize about being a woman to share bathroom facilities with actual females continue to play out around the country.

One such incident took place in Oklahoma in October, where a transgender high school student was charged with assaulting two female students in the girls’ bathroom, according to the feminist outlet Reduxx — the trans student was charged with assault and battery and disorderly conduct after the female students were left with injuries from the alleged violent attack.

On the morning of Oct. 26, at Edmond Memorial High School, which is located in the community of Edmond, Okla.,  a trans-identified male student allegedly initiated a fight with the two female students in the women’s bathroom and would receive a juvenile summons, Reduxx reported, citing a copy of the police report the outlet obtained. The responding officer found one of the female students at the nurse’s station with injuries to her face and head.

More from Reduxx:

The female student advised the officer that a trans-identified student, indicated by the letter A, had approached her in the women’s washroom while she was speaking to friends. She explained that A had tried to talk to her and she had ignored him, at which point A began to get angry and asked if she “wanted to fight” while approaching her with balled fists.

The victim said that the trans-identified student then hit her in the face, and she indicated in her statement that she was not strong enough to fight back due to the force of the blow.

The girl being attacked by the transgender student was forced to the ground after having her hair pulled, according to the report. At this point, the biological male allegedly kicked her in the face and punched her repeatedly. When another female student tried to intervene, she was reportedly punched twice in the side of her head.

A student who witnessed the fight said in the police report that the girl who intervened did so because the transgender student — identified as A — “is a man” and she felt her friend’s life was at risk, Reduxx noted.

Another witness said the victim did not fight back and that the transgender student  “knocked her out clean on the floor.”

The trans student claimed he approached the female student to talk about trying to “pay her back” for clothes he had stolen from her — his version of events contradicted what the victim said and the eyewitness statements.

The trans student’s parents would blame the victim when they arrived to pick up their child, claiming the girl had “made fun” of A for being transgender. As for A, he reportedly continued to pursue the matter online.

“Following the incident at the school, the assailant allegedly posted something disturbing to his Snapchat story directed at the female student who had intervened in the fight,” Reduxx reported. “While details are not provided on the nature of the post, police approached the girl’s parents and asked if they wanted charges to be pressed. The girl’s parents declined, referring to the charges that were already being pursued.”

Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs noted that under a new state law, Edmond Memorial High School could face the loss of 5 percent of its state funding and be subject to lawsuits by parents if  school officials knowingly allowed biological males “to use the girls’ bathroom (and vice versa) based on self-proclaimed gender identity.”

The new law states all public schools “shall require every multiple occupancy restroom or changing area” to be designated for the “exclusive use of the male sex” or “exclusive use of the female sex” with access based on the sex listed on a child’s birth certificate, with OCPA noting that school districts already maintain copies of students’ birth certificates.

The district said in a statement that the trans student was using the facility in violation of the law.

“Administrators at Edmond Memorial High School investigated an injury fight involving two students in a women’s restroom. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that one of the students involved in the fight is transgender and was using the women’s restroom in violation of state law which requires students to use restrooms according to the sex on their birth certificate,” Susan Parks-Schlepp, Director of Communications for Edmond Public Schools, said, according to Reduxx.
