Trump counterpunches with campaign ad-style video hours after FBI raid

Former President Donald Trump will not let the American government have the final word, it seems.

Hours after the Federal Bureau of Investigations raided his Mar-a-Lago estate, the real-estate mogul released a campaign ad-style video titled “A Nation in Decline.” The release appears to capitalize on the media attention received by the raid.

Watch:

The video begins with Trump discussing high energy prices and the botched Afghanistan withdrawal. He goes on to describe all of the ways America has failed under its current leader, President Joe Biden.

“We are a nation that allowed Russia to devastate a country, Ukraine, killing hundreds of thousands of people, and it will only get worse,” Trump says, as the ominous crackle of a thunderstorm plays in the background. “We are a nation that has weaponized its law enforcement against the opposing political party like never before.”

“We are a nation that is allowing Iran to build a massive nuclear weapon and China to use the trillions and trillions of dollars it’s taken from the United States to build a military to rival our own,” he continues. “We are a nation that over the past two years is no longer respected or listened to all around the world.”

However bleak the situation may be, though, Trump claims there is hope for a better future.

“There is no mountain we cannot climb, there is no summit we cannot reach, there is no challenge we cannot meet,” Trump says as orchestral music plays. “We will not bend, we will not break, we will not yield.”

“The tyrants we are fighting do not stand even a little chance because we are Americans and Americans kneel to God and God alone. And it is time to start talking about greatness for our country again.”

The video ends with a quote claiming “the best is yet to come.” While this could mean anything, there is a heavy amount of speculation that this is in reference to a potential 2024 presidential run by Trump.

Fox News claims that their sources indicate the raid was allegedly tied to the accusation that Trump removed materials to his private residence once his presidency ended in early 2021.
