Trump is going to Gracie Mansion — for another sit-down with Mamdani

Following an exchange of barbs in recent days, New York City’s U.N. Week is set to kick off with the latest meeting between the commander-in-chief and Gotham’s top communist.

Monday in the Big Apple, leaders from around the world will begin gathering in Manhattan as part of the United Nations General Assembly. As President Donald Trump returns to his native New York, his schedule lists the first foreigner to sit down with the leader of the free world to be none other than the occupant of Gracie Mansion, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D).

Marking the third meeting between the two in less than a year since the Uganda-born politician was elected mayor, a statement from Mamdani’s office indicated vaguely, “The meeting will focus on issues affecting New York City and New Yorkers.”

Little more than a week before the scheduled meeting, Trump had called out the “terrible” display put on by Hizzoner and New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D) as the two were spotted smiling and chuckling during the recitation of the names of 9/11 victims at the ceremony marking 25 years since the terrorist attack that initially killed 2,977 people.

“I think it’s terrible. It’s not a place to be laughing, especially in that case. I thought it was terrible,” opined the president. “The fact that they were laughing together in a very important part of the ceremony was inappropriate.”

The meeting also comes days after Mamdani announced a lawsuit against the administration’s reversal of a globalist Biden-era rule on green card-seekers expected to rely on welfare.

“The federal government has waged a campaign of violence and terror,” contended the mayor. “ICE has broken into our neighbors’ homes, work sites and schools. And it has targeted those who have come to our country in search of refuge and in search of opportunity. These actions are an assault on our civic fabric, on our shared values. And no matter how much destruction they have already caused, it continues.”

Mamdani further argued that barring foreign nationals from taxpayer-funded handouts would lead to deaths.

Following February’s trip to the Oval Office, New York’s Islamunist executive presented the former businessman with a mock edition of the Daily News with a headline “Trump to City: Let’s Build” contrasting a 1975 front page that read “Ford to City: Drop Dead.”

Sharing the image of Trump holding the papers as he stood beside the leader, Mamdani captioned the post as though he’d received a blessing from the White House: “I had a productive meeting with President Trump this afternoon. I’m looking forward to building more housing in New York City.”

Only two days before that second meeting at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, the president brought up the fledgling face of the Democratic Socialists of America during his State of the Union address.

Pitting radical opposition to voter ID against Mamdani’s office’s expectation that people signing up to shovel snow present multiple forms of identification, Trump said, “And this should be an easy one and, by the way, is polling at 89%, including Democrats, 89%. And even the new communist mayor of New York City.”

“I think he’s a nice guy; I actually speak to him a lot. Bad policy, but nice guy. Just said they want people to shovel snow. They got hit hard. Wants them to shovel snow. But if you apply for that job, you need to show two original forms of ID and a Social Security card,” explained the president. “Yet they don’t want identification for the greatest privilege of them all: voting in America. No, it’s no good, no good.”
