Touting economic success, a price trend Americans can get behind, and more at the McDonald’s Impact Summit, President Donald Trump insisted, “I don’t brag. I just give you the facts.”
After years of gaslighting consumers about record-high inflation under then-President Joe Biden, relying on talking points to dismiss the lived experience of Americans struggling to make ends meet, leftist narrative peddling sought to downplay any economic achievements of the current administration.
Set on countering claims on affordability, Trump assured owners, operators, and suppliers of the fast food chain on Monday that “Prices are coming down.”
“The Biden administration started the affordability crisis—and my administration is ending it,” says @POTUS at the McDonald’s Impact Summit.

“I will tell you that nobody has done what we’ve done in terms of pricing. We took over a mess. We had the highest inflation in the history of our country … and now we have normal inflation,” explained the president, who reminded that too much correction could lead to a different problem with deflation. “We have it down to a low level. But we’re going to get it a little bit lower. We want perfection.”
Speaking to what might have been had then-Vice President Kamala Harris triumphed in the 2024 presidential election, Trump asserted, “You would have had a catastrophe. You probably would have had a bankrupt country. You are so damn lucky that I won that election.”
“I don’t brag,” he added, “I just give you the facts.”

In supporting his argument, the chief executive cited McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski, who’d said “prices at McDonald’s are coming down,” as well as indicating that inflation had reached its lowest rate in eight years.
Last week, the president made moves impacting not only fast food, but the bottom line for all Americans where it concerned their groceries as he lowered tariffs on beef, coffee and other goods after the average per pound price of ground beef had ticked up to $6.32 in September, up from $5.54 in January according to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
Harmful policies weren’t all he used to take a shot at Harris as he also contrasted her claim of having been a one-time McDonald’s employee with his own stint under the golden arches leading up to the November 2024 election. “I’m honored to stand before you as the very first former McDonald’s fry cook ever to become president of the United States.”

The speech also touched on the interconnectedness of the economy as McDonald’s employees were praised for their impact. “Before the sun rises, you’re serving hot coffee to construction workers, nurses, and police officers on the way to the job. In the evening, you stand ready with the fast dinner and the smile for busy moms and their children as they race from school to soccer practice.”
“And late at night your lights are on, and the only one still glowing when the long haul trucker pulls up for a good meal and the best Coca-Cola in America,” added Trump.
