President Donald J. Trump is demanding that the Supreme Court rehear the case on birthright citizenship, an attempt to reverse the recent ruling that dealt a severe blow to his illegal immigration agenda.
Last month, conservative Justices John Roberts and Amy Coney Barrett defected to join the three Democrat-appointed women in the historic decision striking down the president’s executive order seeking to end birthright citizenship, which has been exploited by foreign women seeking to hit the jackpot by crossing the border to drop their anchor babies who immediately become U.S. citizens with full benefits.
Trump called for the court to effectively grant him a mulligan in a Wednesday post on Truth Social after he wrapped up business at the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, turning to domestic matters with immigration being one of his top priorities.
President Trump has indicated that the United States will seek rehearing of the Supreme Court’s ruling on birthright citizenship.
Rule 44 allows 25 days to seek rehearing. It requires the support of at least one Justice from the majority, and is rarely granted. https://t.co/QO3GoDjZxW pic.twitter.com/fHfv0vWjWn

“Signs and Billboards are being put up all over our Southern Border, and Mexico, advertising BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP, with ‘Deliveries starting at $4000.’ Likewise, similar signs going up all over our Country. Billions of Dollars will be illegally made by this SCAM, with Citizenship going to anyone willing to pay. It will be, by far, the number one way of becoming a citizen, and then the entire family will be allowed to follow,” the president wrote.
“Not sustainable. NOBODY SAW THIS COMING!!! AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP IS NOT FOR SALE! In fact, that is a crime, and therefore, the Supreme Court’s ruling is wrong. I will be asking for a Rehearing by the United States Supreme Court, IMMEDIATELY. This miscarriage of justice will destroy America if they don’t change their absolutely insane decision,” Trump’s post read.
Trump did not offer specifics about the alleged birthright citizenship billboards he referred to, but images of the alleged ads have been shared by X users, including the popular Libs of TikTok account.

“We are the only Country in the World STUPID enough to allow ‘Birthright’ Citizenship!” Trump said after the conclusion of oral arguments at the Supreme Court earlier this year.
“The United States of America cannot live with the shackles of Birthright Citizenship. It is not economically, or otherwise, sustainable, and no other Country in the World, of consequence, does it!” Trump said in a June post to Truth Social.
After the ruling, the president called for Congress to take action to fix the problem.
“The Supreme Court upheld Birthright Citizenship, which is too bad for our Country, but we can easily make it up in Congress through Legislation, with the support of the President, that has now been determined during this process,” he said in a June 30 Truth Social post. “No long and unwieldy Constitutional Amendment is necessary!”
“Congress should start TODAY to work on ending expensive and unfair to our Country, Birthright Citizenship. They will have my Complete and Total Support!” Trump added.
It’s uncertain whether Trump’s gambit will be successful, as the Supreme Court rarely agrees to rehear cases.
