A new chapter in the online war of words between Candace Owens and Cardi B saw the rapper speaking out in defense of pornography.
“Is it that bad for yall ?”
As consistent as the commentator has remained in calling out the “absolute debauchery” peddled in entertainment today, with particular umbrage over the disintegration of “black culture,” so too has the “WAP” performer been unwavering as both a participant in and a defender of that downward spiral.
The latest show of support came amid a push from Owens in favor of banning pornography that prompted Cardi B to react on Instagram, “Ommmggg why yall so against porn ? Is it that bad for yall ? I enjoy it but I don’t know I guess is like a 6 time a year thing .I personally don’t feel no connection or addiction to it just a little quick one two ….NOTHING LIKE REAL INTIMACY!”
Adding to her defense as an infrequent viewer, the stripper turned superstar had argued against negative impacts on men and contended it would prove a benefit in their relationships, “How ? It actually should teach men how to please a woman.”

Those posts, according to TMZ, were in reaction to a blog sharing X commentary from Owens that had picked up her opposition to the explicit materials with her suggesting on May 21, “Ban pornography. It is a psychological weapon intended to weaken our men.”
While she engaged in a number of back-and-forths with other social media accounts, the podcast host and recent Catholic convert furthered her argument by asserting, “Pornography was created as a tool of enslavement, not freedom. It was created by the most depraved among our human race to psychologically introduce homosexuality, pedophilia and incest–religious sacraments to satanists.”
“BAN IT & stigmatize every person who defends or profits from it,” she added.

Despite Cardi B’s feelings over facts defense of pornography, a considerable number of studies have shown the myriad detrimental impacts that ready access to pornography has had on society and relationships alike.
Notably, in 2018, Psychology Today highlighted four studies regarding the negatives of pornography with one that specifically negated the rapper’s argument about teaching “how to please a woman.”
“When it comes to instructing viewers on sexual pleasure, porn is generally inaccurate and likely to lead to low-quality sex and infrequent orgasms, especially for female partners, as well as one-dimensional, likely unsatisfying sex for males,” wrote psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Dr. Grant Hilary Brenner.
He also noted how researchers found that the likelihood of divorce “doubled for both men and women who started using porn after getting married,” and that the risks increased the younger the couple were with “Half of the 20-year-olds who began using pornography after marriage divorced…28 percent of 30-year-olds, and 12 percent of 40-year-olds.”
Of course, Owens didn’t merely rage against pornography as she also pointed toward solutions to break addiction, including advice from Catholic podcast host Matt Fradd of “Pints with Aquinas.”
“I also want to say to the men that struggle with pornography–you were the intended victims of it. Don’t feel ashamed talking about it,” she wrote. “Knowing that it’s wrong is a great first step. There are a ton of podcasters who do work in this space and can help.”
