Fox News’s Jesse Watters is facing backlash for suggesting former President Donald Trump’s recent mugshot has made him more appealing to black voters.
Speaking Monday on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime,” the iconic host made the case that Trump’s booking last week at the Fulton County Jail has made him more popular to the average black voter.
“The mug shot has breathed new life into the Trump campaign and broadened his appeal to black Americans. Over the weekend, with the help of mugshot merchandise, the Trump campaign raked in over $7 million. Today, my garbage man told me he’s buying mugshot T-shirts for everyone he knows this Christmas,” he said.
Listen:
“The mugshot is up on the side of buildings in the inner city. The 2016 phenomenon is happening all over again. Trump won that election because of a laser-like Focus on the Forgotten Man. A bond was formed back then that can never be broken. And there’s a new forgotten man, the Black man. Democrats have forgotten about them,” he added.
If you listen to the whole segment, you’ll see that Watters cited the testimony of a number of black individuals to back up his thesis. Though they aren’t the only ones.
Last Friday, famous rapper Chief Keef posted an edited photo of Trump to Instagram and supportively claimed the former president would “run the prison” were he ever incarcerated.
Another musician, The Marine Rapper, tweeted, “Trump’s arrest is only making him more popular in the black community!! ‘Trump is a brother now.'”

Meanwhile, podcaster Antoine Tucker, also a black man, said in a video message posted to Twitter that Trump’s mugshot had elevated the former president among the black community.
“I want to say to the new world order and to the illuminati: Thank you very much for being stupid, dumb, motherf–kers. We appreciate the fact that you keep elevating my guy, Donnie, to Teflon Don,” he said.
“And as you seen his caravan ride through the hood, and you seen all the love he got, when I tell you I speak for the hood, I tell you this sincerely, we don’t like you anyway. We don’t like the government. The guy be f–king over the black race for the longest. And we watch you f–k with the only man that’s ever offered black people anything. This n—– want to give us $500 billion. You want to lock the n—– up,” he added.
Despite all this, liberals rushed out to accuse Watters of racism for daring to suggest Trump’s mugshot may make him more popular among those Americans who are, statistically speaking, most acquainted with the criminal justice system.
Look at some of the backlash below:
“Look, Trump has a Mugshot just like all you black folk” is not the winning message those racist at Fox think it is.

Couldn’t be his black doctor or neighbor? Had to be a garbage man. Subtle, Jessie,

This is statement is deeply offensive and yet totally predictable and casual racism from Watters and Fox not-news, not journalists network. Watters seems to one Black person for every purpose.

If Trump’s Mug Shot “has breathed new life into his campaign,”
You need to question what the hell it is you think he’s running for.
And how nice to reduce all Black Americans to a cultural stereotype for your own purposes of Propaganda

So Jesse thinks of Black people when he thinks of mugshots and “garbage men.”

The irony is leftists frequently rely on racial stereotypes to defend their own questionable policies. For example, they claim it’s important to not enforce certain laws because said enforcement “disproportionately impacts black people.” The premise therefore is that black people are the ones who most frequently violate said laws.
They also argue against bail because it “disproportionately impacts black people.” The suggestion this time is that it’s mainly black people getting arrested.
But when conservatives rely on the same stereotypes, suddenly they become racist? It seems like yet another double standard …
