WH spox says ‘The View’ could be ‘pulled off-air’ after Joy Behar shoots off her big mouth

The White House slammed Joy Behar over her “severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome” and warned “The View” may be yanked off the air if she keeps running her mouth.

Nearly one week after CBS announced “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” would take its last breath next May, White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers said last year’s “all-time low” ratings for “The View” could lead to a similar demise for the ABC daytime show. This came after Behar unloaded in yet another tired rant against President Donald Trump, suggesting he is jealous of former President Barack Obama.

“First of all, who tried to overthrow the government on Jan. 6?” Behar said.

“Who was that again? That was not Obama. The thing about him is he’s so jealous of Obama, because Obama is everything that he is not: Trim, smart, handsome, happily married, and can sing Al Green’s song ‘Let’s Stay Together’ better than Al Green,” she continued as the panel of women discussed Trump’s call for an investigation of Obama over the Russia collusion hoax.

“And Trump cannot stand it. It’s driving him crazy. Green is not a good color,” Behar declared.

The White House fired back.

“Joy Behar is an irrelevant loser suffering from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. It’s no surprise that ‘The View’s ratings hit an all-time low last year. She should self-reflect on her own jealousy of President Trump’s historic popularity before her show is the next to be pulled off-air,” Rogers said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly.

The outlet received a statement from a spokesperson for the show, which did not directly address Rogers’ remarks but focused on ratings for “The View,” which “is up in total viewers and women 18-49,” versus the comparable weeks last season, to its most-watched in four years.

The statement also noted that “season to date, The View is ranking No. 1 in households and total viewers among all network daytime talk shows and news programs for the fifth straight season.”

Later on Wednesday’s episode, Behar said Obama should sue Trump and got quick agreement from co-host Sunny Hostin.

“I agree with you on that,” Hostin said. “Obama still lives rent-free in his head. I think Michelle Obama still lives rent-free in his head, I think the fact that Malia graduated from Harvard still lives rent-free in his head, and it’s just the very swag that Obama has that he will never have.”
