Woman steals car with 13-year-old sleeping in front seat. Brave kid punches on her face when he wakes.

No telling what a brazen car thief was thinking would happen when she allegedly stole a vehicle in Tulsa, Oklahoma with a young boy sleeping inside.

But the suspect — identified as Koleasha Pruitt — was in for a fight when the 13-year-old awoke to assess the situation and promptly showered her with punches.

According to police, the boy’s mother called them around 4:45 a.m. Thursday and reported that her Nissan was stolen from a parking lot at 4800 South Darlington Avenue. She also informed them that her son was sleeping in the front seat.

“Shortly after, the woman’s son called her on his cell phone and said the car was stopped near 37th and Yale Ave,” the Tulsa Police Department reported.

“The 13-year-old said he woke up when the suspect, Koleasha Pruitt, hit a curb, and he realized the woman driving was not his mother,” the report continued.

“The 13-year-old punched Pruitt several times in the face to get her to stop the car. When Pruitt got out, the 13-year-old locked the doors and called for help,” police added.

The suspect allegedly threatened to taser the 13-year-old several times, but she failed to reach him as he had locked the vehicle doors.

The teen is back with his family and was, thankfully, not injured in the harrowing incident, KTUL reported.

As for Pruitt, apparently, this was not her first run-in with the law. She was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on charges of kidnapping after a former conviction of a felony. She also faces charges of possession of a stolen vehicle after former conviction of felony, and obstruction/interfering with an officer.

“This is an arrest, not a conviction,” Tulsa Police noted.
