‘You’re fired!’ Trump cans Biden appointees – Milley tops list as portrait is banished from Pentagon

President Donald Trump is no stranger to firing people, so it should be no surprise that one of his first moves after being sworn in was to can appointees from the last administration.

Without giving the press or his opponents a moment to breathe, Trump immediately got to work cleaning house and making room for his own people.

In a Truth Social post made early Tuesday morning, the president effectively issued notices of dismissal for four big names from former President Joe Biden’s administration. He also announced that his Presidential Personnel Office is currently “in the process of identifying and removing over one thousand” other officials.

“Our first day in the White House is not over yet! My Presidential Personnel Office is actively in the process of identifying and removing over a thousand Presidential Appointees from the previous Administration, who are not aligned with our vision to Make America Great Again,” he wrote.

“Let this serve as Official [sic] Notice of Dismissal for these 4 individuals, with many more, coming soon: Jose Andres from the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, Mark Milley from the National Infrastructure Advisory Council, Brian Hook from the Wilson Center for Scholars, and Keisha Lance Bottoms from the President’s Export Council—YOU’RE FIRED!”

Ret. Gen. Mark Milley’s firing was accented by the decision to remove his recently unveiled portrait from the Pentagon. Milley famously admitted to telling China that he would effectively break the chain of command to notify them if Trump had any plans for military action against them during the final days of his first term. The retired Army general also received a pardon from Biden, a controversial move that critics say proves he is guilty of something.

It took less than three hours after Trump took office for the portrait, which was hung two weeks ago by the Biden administration, to be removed. Defense Department officials have not issued a statement on the removal, and a Pentagon spokesperson referred all inquiries to the White House.

Chef Andrés has also been vocal about his distaste for several of Trump’s policies, including his strict stance on immigration.
