Artists bailing on ‘Trump-backed’ America 250 event being held on National Mall

Multiple music artists who evidently hate America are refusing to participate in next month’s celebration of America’s 250th birthday.

Freedom 250, a non-partisan organization, announced earlier in the week that nine artists/groups would be performing on the National Mall for the July 10 celebration of America’s 250th birthday.

Within hours of the announcement, left-wing artists who evidently hate America (surprise, surprise) started pulling out of the event, starting with singer Morris Day.

“Contrary To Rumor, Morris Day & The Time Will Not Be Performing At The ‘Great American State Fair,'” the black artist announced in the third-person via a post published to Instagram.

His replies were full of black leftists thanking him for not participating in America’s 250th birthday celebration.

The next artist to drop out was Young MC, another black man.

“I have informed my agents that I will not be performing at the Freedom 250 event,” he wrote on Facebook. “The artists were never told about any political involvement with the event.”‘

“And despite the claims by the organizers that the event is non-partisan, SPIN magazine describes it as ‘Trump-backed’. I hope to perform in D.C. in the near future at an event that is not so politically charged,” he added.

It’s “Trump-backed” only in the sense that it was President Donald Trump’s idea to celebrate America’s 250th birthday with a grand festival.

The next day, cancellations started pouring in at lightening-fast speed.

“I was presented with an opportunity to perform at a nonpartisan event but that turned out to be misleading,” country singer Martina McBride, a white woman, wrote in an Instagram post. “I asked lots of questions and was assured this was a nonpartisan event that was meant to celebrate ALL 50 states.”

The event is designed to celebrate all 50 states, given that all 50 states are a part of America and its history …

“The Commodores will not be performing,” the musical group announced in a statement also shared to Instagram. “Our music has always been our voice and we choose not to publicly affiliate with any single political party.”

Again, celebrating America’s 250th birthday isn’t a remotely partisan event, despite proclamations and blatant lies otherwise from the Democrat Party and its allies, including, evidently, these so-called “artists.”

Freedom Williams, the lead rapper of C+C Music Factory, published a profane video rant to Instagram kvetching about how he doesn’t “f–k with Trump” and smearing the 250th birthday celebration as “250 years of motherf–king capitalism and death” and “straight murder.”

As noted earlier, these people appear to hate America.

In fairness, Williams also attacked the leftists who’d threatened to cancel him if he did perform at the event — and he further suggested he might still eventually perform at the event out of spite.

Meanwhile, Milli Vanilli singer Jodie Rocco reportedly told the media that nobody had asked her or her colleagues, including her sister, to perform.

“My sister and I were shocked to see our name, ‘Milli Vanilli’, as one of the performers,” she said, according to The Guardian.

However, fellow Milli Vanilli band member Fab Morvan, the reported owner of the band, recently said that he would be performing at the event.

“I am here to entertain and unite people, not divide them,” he said, according to the Associated Press. “Let’s celebrate life & music and take a trip down memory lane. I feel honored to be a part of it as it will celebrate the 250 Year Anniversary of America with so many other accomplished artists.”

In a statement to The Hill, Freedom 250 fiercely defended the scheduled July event.

“Freedom 250 is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) dedicated to uniting Americans around the nation’s 250th anniversary,” a spokesperson said. “Freedom 250 is focused on our signature celebrations and events that honor our history and engage all Americans — welcoming all who share our goal of commemorating this milestone in a way that uplifts and unites America.”
