‘Ask your doctor about Covid!’ SNL gets creative in pushing booster – touts benefits of catching virus

In their latest attempt at comedy, the cast of Saturday Night Live seemingly forgot the inherent humorlessness of the woke-set with a pandemic themed pharmaceutical ad that hit too close to reality for some.

Progressives who sat down to watch the latest installment of SNL were appalled en masse Saturday when the sketch comedy program aired a parody spot that evidently required a trigger warning for panic porn addicts.

Jab or no jab, it has remained an undeniable fact that the vast majority of people who tested positive for the coronavirus experienced, at worst, mild symptoms. Making light of isolation policies, the pre-taped commercial spot asked, “Are you feeling tired and worn down? Sick of the endless grind at work? Exhausted by your family, desperate for some peace and quiet?”

After playing relatable scenes of frustration from everyday life the narrator suggested, “Then ask your doctor about COVID. As soon as getting COVID, you’re guaranteed a five and sometimes even 10-day vacation from all of life’s problems.”

Actors made up to look rundown are depicted having a good time jumping on their bed in pajamas and kicking family members out of the house while coughing and even smiling after getting a temperature reading of 105 degrees Fahrenheit despite being “triple vaxxed.”

“Side effects of COVID include having COVID which is still kinda bad,” the narrator said before adding, “but doesn’t it seem different now?”

Apparently for some, that was far from true as people posted their visceral reactions to the skit referencing the death toll despite the unanswerable question regarding distinction between those who died “from COVID” and “with COVID.”

The ad continued by pointing out all of the things people don’t necessarily want to do that COVID could be used as an excuse to get out of, “COVID is the perfect way to get out of: Jury Duty, Cousin’s Wedding, Friend’s Improv Show, Neighbor’s Adult Baptism and Husband’s Murder Trial.”

“At this point COVID is basically a 10-day cruise which is also a great way to get COVID,” it said.

The spot even went as far as to point out the inherent problem of at home testing that didn’t require follow up confirmation from a doctor as they pitched an alternative product, “COVID isn’t for everyone, that’s why there’s also new COVID Always Positive Home Test, the only COVID test that comes with two pink lines already drawn on.”

For those who didn’t succumb to the narrative used to push draconian lockdowns and power grabs across the world, some humor was seen in the skit that probably wasn’t intended by the writers.

“SNL skit about ‘catching COVID’ is just the purest distillation of how the narrative changes. My goodness,” one wrote as another said, “SNL depicted Covid as a joke, that’s the first smart & educated thing this network has ever done.”

Ultimately, some concluded the takeaway to be the pandemic could once again be declared officially over, but some refused to let it go.
