The Democrat noise machine kicked into high gear to spin President Joe Biden’s embarrassing faceplant during his commencement address to graduating Air Force cadets, spinning away the tumble with excuses and historical examples to minimize concerns about the 80-year-old leader’s health.
It’s a common thing for elderly people to fall, that’s just a fact of life, but this senior citizen happens to be running for reelection to the most powerful office on the planet. And Biden’s nosedive during a speech that received heavy media coverage wasn’t good optics with polls showing a majority of the electorate having serious concerns about his physical and mental capabilities during a second White House term.

No stranger to tripping over his own feet, the president later joked about the incident, saying he had been “sandbagged” with the official story being that he stumbled over one of the sandbags that had been laid out on the stage at Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs.
Biden’s fall drew widespread coverage and with there no way to easily gaslight the public over their geriatric leader’s nasty spill, some in the media sought to distract by focusing on the mean Republicans.

The same media had a completely different set of standards when Biden’s predecessor, former President Donald J. Trump walked carefully down a steep ramp at a commencement ceremony at West Point in 2020, pumping out negative coverage suggesting that he was too infirm to be reelected with Biden himself poking fun at him.
“Look at how he steps and look at how I step. Watch how I run up ramps and he stumbles down ramps,” Biden joked on the campaign trail. “Come on.”

Trump reacted to Biden’s mishap while campaigning in Iowa on Thursday.
“He actually fell down? Well, I hope he wasn’t hurt,” the GOP frontrunner said. “The whole thing is crazy. You’ve got to be careful about that… even if you have to tiptoe down the ramp.”
“That’s a bad place to fall… that’s not inspiring,” Trump later added.
One of the more ridiculous bits of spin on Biden’s being “sandbagged” came courtesy of NBC News presidential historian Michael Beschloss who posted pictures of two 1970s-era presidents to minimize the current octogenarian Oval Office occupant’s ongoing struggles with basic motor skills.

Twitter wasn’t having the historian’s deceptive spin and let him know it.
Biden wasn’t running a marathon.

Was Biden running a strenuous foot race while he was walking very slowly across a flat stage?
It is not uncommon for even very young people to fall out during a race.

Clearly the same thing as Biden walking across a stage. https://t.co/VQPsnj567v

You’re comparing running in a six-mile race to taking a few steps to get to one’s seat? C’mon now. ♂️

People keep comparing Biden falling to everybody else. It’s not that he fell, is that he falls constantly. Whether it’s on the stairs, flat, ground, or bicycles. That’s just what you see in media. I wonder how often he does this in private. He is not all there.

It’s GOOD that Biden keeps falling down https://t.co/Q53ICfnMqO

Despite the media’s smokescreen, there is no way to obscure the fact that people have legitimate reasons to question Biden’s capabilities, especially as he continues to age and would be 86 years old when his second term expires in 2029 if Americans vote to keep him in office in next year’s election.
