Comedian Bill Maher’s “brutally honest” take on President Donald Trump’s ballroom drew applause from his audience while it wiped the smirk off a congressional guest’s face.
Those expecting the host of HBO’s “Real Time” to kvetch with the rest of corporate media about the president’s enhancement to the White House were instead greeted with a reality check on the latest episode. Instead of fielding the assist from Florida Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D) who’d offered up some low-hanging fruit for Maher to work with, the comedian left the play dead on the field when he proclaimed, “I don’t give a sh*t.”
The exchange kicked off during the Overtime segment of the program where, alongside commentator Bill O’Reilly, the congressman had been asked about the use of money for a missile defense system dubbed the Golden Dome.
After Moskowitz snarked about the White House project, the host began, “And the ballroom, I don’t give a sh*t. I really don’t give a sh*t. I was reading … it shows you like how the media is, everything is always on one side or the other. When he first mentioned it, it was like all about, ‘Oh my God, he’s desecrating the White House.’ Then I finally read, ‘Oh, well, you know, they’ve done sh*t to the White House before.’ It’s just a building, I think.”
Bill Maher surprises the entire room with a brutally honest take on Trump’s ballroom project.
Maher did the unthinkable: he called out the media for being completely unfair. After digging into the story, he was stunned by what he found.

“Also, like, I realized after reading other people, we don’t have a place when they have state dinners. They’re doing it in a tent! This is America! So, do I give a sh*t that he’s doing this to the White House? I really don’t,” he went on.
Before Maher had weighed in, Moskowitz had responded to the question about a missile defense system by bringing up the ballroom and proposed arch on the National Mall and suggesting the space would be the next part of the property at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue subject to the hypersexualized gender ideology of leftists, “I’m very excited when the Democrats take the White House in 2028 — when we have the ballroom — the Pride, Pride month in February is gonna be great in that ballroom.”
The host had defended the proposed Golden Dome, expressing that, “Just ’cause Trump thought of it, I’m not against it. Something that would stop the increasing number of rogue missiles that are in this world from maybe coming over here and incinerating me, yeah, mark me down as a pro for that.”
Keeping his two cents pithy as ever, O’Reilly reminded that the ballroom cost the taxpayers nothing as he also snarked about future occupants. “Look, he raised the money privately. And if [California Gov. Gavin] Newsom (D) wants to knock it down when he’s president, then he can knock it down, right?”
Having previously suggested the ballroom symbolized that Trump was “not leaving,” Maher made clear his position remained against getting angry about anything and everything the president did as he suggested the left, “Save your ire for the things that matter.”
