Boebert fires back; vows hardcore legal action over claims she was a paid escort, had multiple abortions

After being smeared in recent days by a left-wing political committee claiming she obtained two abortions in times past and used to be a paid escort, firebrand Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert is now fighting back through the courts.

“This political committee, funded by far-left Democrat donors and run by two left-wing political operatives, published pages of false statements knowing they were completely fabricated. The law on this type of defamation is clear and this conduct will be subject to civil and criminal penalties,” she said in a statement to Fox News.

According to a letter written by her attorney, Jonathan Anderson, and addressed to American Muckrakers PAC president, David Wheeler, it appears she plans to file suit.

In the letter, Anderson accused American Muckrakers PAC of publishing “a series of false and defamatory statements” about Boebert and noted that, despite the PAC claiming to be a “watchdog group,” in reality it’s nothing more than “a political committee that exclusively opposes conservative candidates, is funded by established Democrat donor sources, and is managed by Democrat political operatives.”

In other words, much like the “objective” establishment press, American Muckrakers PAC is the exact opposite of what it purports to be. This much became clear Tuesday when the PAC published a press release brimming with unsubstantiated claims about Boebert, including the one about her having been an escort.

“Lauren Boebert was an unlicensed, paid escort and met clients through SugarDaddyMeet.com. Text messages show she was bankrupt at the time and looking for ‘side income’ and called her work ‘pay to play’. She was paid to ‘escort’ wealthy men,” the press release reads.

As evidence, the press release included screenshots of the texts and three photos of a blonde woman. There was just one problem.

“The PAC misidentified Boebert in one of the three photos it claimed the congresswoman had uploaded to her supposed profile on the sugar daddy website. The photo was actually of Mellissa Carone, a Michigan woman who was enlisted by former President Donald Trump’s onetime attorney Rudy Giuliani to help push false election fraud claims in the aftermath of the 2020 contests,” according to the Washington Examiner.

As for the other two photos that the PAC alleged Boebert had uploaded to SugarDaddyMeet.com, they “were pictures that the lawmaker had added to her profile on Explore Talent in 2011, according to web archives.”

ExploreTalent.com is a website that allows those seeking to become famous to showcase their skills and talents and participate in contests.

The press release from American Muckrakers PAC also accused Boebert of having two abortions, using donor money to pay her taxes and restaurant rent, owing her employees back pay, threatening her employees if they complained, and nearly killing her former sister-in-law during a drunk-driving accident and then covering it up.

“We have irrefutable evidence that each one of these statements is patently false. You knew this though,” Anderson’s letter to American Muckrakers PAC continues.

“Muckrakers published these outlandish statements knowing they were fabricated but you likely operated under the inaccurate assumption that publishing false statements against a public figure would not create legal liability. This will be a costly miscalculation for Muckrakers, Wheeler and Muckrakers’ donors.

Anderson also wrote that he has “evidence, including internal Muckrakers’ text and email communications, that demonstrates Muckrakers did in fact publish statements knowing those statements to be false.”

“In addition to the civil defamation claims that will be filed, Muckrakers’ actions are criminally liable. Colorado statute expressly prohibits the circulation of ‘knowingly or recklessly’ false information meant to influence an election. In addition, Wheeler also sent letters to the State of Utah and the State of Colorado requesting an investigation. Wheeler’s letters contain multiple knowingly false statements,” the letter continued.

In a separate statement to the Examiner, Boebert said that the PAC’s behavior is a perfect example of why so many people hate politics.

“For them to go after me in this manner is absolutely sexist and disgusting, and this is what people hate about politics. They hate the lies and they hate the personal destruction,” she said.

“This is very damaging, and that is why I’m going after this guy personally and his group with the full force of the law. I am not holding back, and I want to make sure that this never happens to anyone else again,” she added.

After American Muckrakers PAC published its defamatory press release, Boebert began to trend on Twitter as leftists gleefully shared the PAC’s unsubstantiated allegations.

In a statement to Fox News, Wheeler said that he and the PAC “stand behind” their source, despite their source being wrong in more ways than just one.

“Boebert said it was impossible for her to have had an abortion on the dates alleged by the PAC, noting she was pregnant with two of her sons during those same time frames,” according to the Examiner.

Similarly, while the press release claimed the drunk driving accident happened on May 10th, 2020, Boebert “said that she, her onetime sister-in-law, and her family were about 180 miles away from Moab on the day the PAC alleged the incident took place.”
