As yet another airport served double duty as a shelter for illegals, the governor put the onus on the federal government to fix the crisis that could cost them nearly $1 billion.

The managed decline of the United States has continued to sink to new lows under the watch of President Joe Biden’s administration. As the cultural rotgut of DEI was readily blamed for airline delays and near-disasters, the effects of globalism played out at a terminal-turned-camp ground in Boston Logan International Airport.
CBS News Boston shared footage from Terminal E where it was estimated that roughly 100 illegal aliens had been seen sleeping overnight, bused away during the day and then returned to camp out once more.
A volunteer named Keturah Douze spoke with the outlet and detailed how she’d seen “a lot of children” and that she brought items to help people maintain their hygiene. “A lot of well-care stuff because while they’re at the airport they don’t have access to a shower so there’s like some shower wipes, little towels just to clean up while they wait.”
With similar scenes playing out at Chicago O’Hare International Airport and San Diego International Airport, the WBZ’s investigative team confirmed with the Massachusetts State Police that law enforcement officials were getting paid overtime to assist overnight at Logan.
“The airport has been a wonderful partner and I really want to thank the folks at the airport for the tremendous job they’ve done including members of the state police who are working their regular shifts but who are managing the inflow and outflow of folks from the airport,” Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey (D) said during a press conference Monday in response to a question about the state’s involvement in the situation.
According to the outlet, Massachusetts had maxed out shelter space in November at 7,500 families and Healey’s office projected a cost of $915 million to the state next year as she she sought aid of $250 million to address the crisis.
“We need D.C. to act. We need Congress to act. The path is there in terms of what needs to be done to fix the border situation, to fix some of the asylum processes and to get much needed funding to interior states who have had to shoulder the burden for a problem that is geopolitical and is not the state’s making,” the governor said during the conference.
As it happened, the Massachusetts Port Authority interim CEO Ed Freni had told reporters in November that the airport was “not an appropriate place” for aliens to stay. “When they come to Logan we meet them and we try to assist them, but we have to emphasize that Logan is not an appropriate place to house people.”
That had played out in the summer when the family of entertainers Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard had reported getting booted from the airport when they had attempted to camp out overnight after a nine-hour delay for a flight as they claimed there were no hotel vacancies within 50 miles.
Even as emergency management systems across the country have declared crises and begged for federal assistance, the president’s administration has challenged Texas’ right to secure the border on its own with the Supreme Court vacating a decision from the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals Monday thus permitting federal agents to remove razor wire installed to deter illegal entry.
