Bruce Springsteen love affair with Obamas rocking: Michelle O joins ‘The Boss’ on vocals in Barcelona

When it comes to Democrat rock stars there are few in the league of Michelle Obama and the former first lady got a chance to strut her stuff onstage when she joined Bruce Springsteen and crew on vocals on one of the rocker’s most enduring hits.

On Friday, ‘Springsteen and fellow surviving members of the E Street Band were performing at a stop on the European leg of their latest tour when Mrs. Obama made a surprise appearance to join Steven Spielberg’s wife Kate Capshaw, and Springsteen’s spouse Patti Scialfa for a rousing rendition of “Glory Days” from the singer’s iconic 1984 album “Born In The USA” at the Estadi Olimpic in Barcelona, Spain.

‘It was the last thing anyone expected, to see Michelle up there,” gushed one fan who was quoted by the Daily Mail. “What a surprise! A woman of many talents. The crowd went nuts.'”

Video of the performance shows Obama having the time of her life as she croaked out the backing vocals and shook a tambourine while Springsteen and guitarist Steven Van Zandt pounded out the song, with the 73-year-old frontman joining her at center stage as the crowd went wild.

Springsteen who was once the symbol of the downtrodden everyman until he became a wealthy member of the same wealthy elite that he decried in the songs that made him rich, is like his fellow flush-with-cash celebs, completely smitten with the Obamas.

According to a Reuters report, his highness Barack Obama joined “The Boss” and Spielberg for dinner at the Amar restaurant in the Palace Hotel on Thursday, posing for a picture with the staff who were delighted to find themselves in the presence of greatness.

Cozy with the two-time president, Springsteen first met Obama when he was on the campaign trail in 2008 and played at his fundraisers, he has been an outspoken critic of Republicans – especially former President Donald J. Trump – and lent his famous voice to Joe Biden by narrating a campaign ad for Obama’s former second banana.

He also shared the mic with Obama for a Spotify podcast and bestowed upon him the honor of the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016.

Twitter reacted to Mrs. Obama’s guest appearance onstage with Bruce and the band.

Both members of the royal Democrat family enjoyed themselves at the show with video capturing the king and queen of “hope and change” dancing to the music.

Van Zandt was recently in the news for his eliminationist rhetoric about the need to “exterminate” the Republican “cockroaches,” remarks that he was forced to slightly walk back.

Next up for Springsteen and his bandmates are three shows in Dublin, followed by stops in Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Zurich, Oslo, London and Munich before returning to North America this summer to finish the tour with performances in the U.S. and Canada.
