The widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk revealed the heartbreaking thing she was “praying to God” for when he was shot and killed in September.
During a live on-stage interview with Megyn Kelly last week, Erika Kirk spoke about how she had wanted to have more children and that she prayed that she was pregnant when her husband’s life was cut short by an assassin’s bullet.
“You told me this in private, but how many kids did you guys want to have?” Kelly asked during the interview in Glendale, Arizona, after remarking on the couple’s two small children.
“We wanted to have four,” Erika replied.

“And I was praying to God that I was pregnant when he got murdered,” she tearfully told Kelly.
“I thought of that once. Whether it was meant to be or whether we’d get news like that,” Kelly said.
“I was like, oh, goodness, that was going to be the ultimate blessing out of this catastrophe,” Kirk added, emotionally.
She had a special message for young women in light of her loss.
“When I see young couples, I tell them, ‘Please, don’t put it off.’ Especially if you’re a young woman. Don’t put it off, you can always have a career, you can always, you know, go back to work. You can never just go back to having children. And they grow so fast and so quickly,” she said.
“I was praying. Both of us were. We were just excited to just expand our family,” she added.
“Thank God you have the two. Thank God,” Kelly said.
Kirk concurred, noting how the couple’s son, who turned 1 in May, and their daughter, who turned 3 in August, will one day know about the important role their father, the co-founder of Turning Point USA, played in his public life.
“One day, they’ll find out they’re Charlie Kirk’s children, and they’ll know what that means,” Kelly pointed out as the audience applauded.
Kirk recently spoke with Fox News host Jesse Watters about the “precious” relationship her hisband had with their children.
