Christina Pushaw gives US-trash-talking green card holder directions to border

It’s bad enough when Americans choose to run down their own country — see Democrats — but to see people from other countries doing so while enjoying all that the United States offers is a whole other matter.

After all, as noted by Christina Pushaw, spokesperson for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, those in the latter category have options.

Johan Miranda, a self-described comic in Los Angeles, apparently thought it would be humorous to equate “finally” getting his green card to “scoring a ticket to the Titanic.”

“After being undocumented for 30 years I’ve finally been approved for a U.S. green card, which now in 2022 feels like scoring a ticket to the Titanic,” Miranda tweeted.

Image that. Why would Miranda voluntarily stay on a doomed ship that’s certain to spell his doom? And Pushaw was only too happy to help the comedian out.

“You can always leave,” she tweeted.

When a social media user pointed out that in America you have the right to criticize the country, Pushaw countered with this gem: “Sure. And we have free will to mock anyone who criticizes a country that they came to illegally and chose to pursue citizenship. That’s how free speech works. So… If he thinks it’s like the Titanic, that is a shipwreck, so why would he stay on the ship?”

Of course, Miranda’s take is the best sign that he watches MSNBC on a regular basis, although the cable network is not alone in painting the greatest experiment known to man as a terrible country. Many in the media do the same, as does much of the Democratic Party, which seems to subscribe to the theory that they must first tear down what exists in order to build back better.

The odd thing here being that Miranda, who lived here for 30 years as an illegal immigrant, defying U.S. law, whined about Democrats not gifting him with a pathway to citizenship in Oct. 2020, writing that “building a life for myself seemed impossible, so I retreated into apathy and despair. Now, even in the worst of times, I’m able to imagine a better future because of grassroots undocumented organizers who gain power & agency through collective solidarity.”

What changed since then? President Joe Biden.

“I came to this country undocumented in 1992, when I was three years old. Since then, there have been four administrations, half of which were Democratic, with both Bill Clinton and Barack Obama entering their presidencies with Democrat-controlled Congresses. And yet, to this day, I still don’t have a pathway to citizenship,” Miranda complained in a piece published by The Land. “Every election cycle, voters are implored to vote Democrat to spare undocumented immigrants like myself from the unmitigated cruelty imposed by Republicans. This may be done with good intentions, but it is done at the cost of depicting undocumented immigrants as helpless and at the mercy of the benevolence of the Democratic Party.”

The editorial was essentially praising grassroots undocumented-led organizations for advocating for citizenship.

“I’m not saying you shouldn’t vote for Biden. A Trump victory would put me and every other undocumented immigrant in jeopardy for deportation. But it’s important to acknowledge that the gains Democratic politicians have made in protecting immigrant rights in recent years weren’t due to the kindness of their own hearts — they were due to undocumented organizers forcing their hands.” he added. “The Abolish ICE movement gained traction in 2018 after the controversy of the family separation policy at the border. This year’s Democratic presidential candidates were quick to jump in the fray to score political points, yet by the time the primary started, the topic fell by the wayside.”

Yet, the “Titanic” he speaks of today is being steered by Captain Joe Biden.

Here’s but a few examples of the pushback Miranda enjoyed n Twitter:
