Far-left MSNBC host Chuck Todd celebrated his last day as the host of “Meet the Press” this Sunday morning by touting his so-called “journalism.”
“Good Sunday morning. As you may have heard, after nine years and more than 430 broadcasts, today is my final Sunday in the moderator chair. To say that this has been the honor and privilege of my lifetime is an understatement,” his final statement began.
“This is simply the pinnacle of political journalism — something my younger self never imagined,” he added.
To be clear, what Todd does is not journalism — it’s left-wing advocacy and commentary. More on this later.
“No matter how much of a grind the current political climate is wearing me down on any given day, I still always have had a pinch me, I can’t believe it feeling every time I hear my name introduced as the moderator of the longest running show in the history of television,” he continued.
“In fact, I used to joke my goal is not to be the last moderator of the longest-running show in American history, and I’ve achieved that goal and then some. I look forward to passing the baton is about 57 minutes,” he concluded.
As noted earlier, Todd is not a journalist. He’s an advocate for the Democrat Party who spouts Democrat Party talking points to a T and almost always dismisses Republican Party talking points as misinformation, disinformation, etc.
For example, in January he defended current President Joe Biden’s scandalous youngest son, Hunter, saying that “it is not a crime to make money off of your last name.” But it certainly is a crime when that last name is linked to the presidency.
Months later in May, he claimed gender isn’t binary as is instead on a spectrum — which, incidentally, is exactly the nonsense that Democrats believe.
Then in July, he touted a dubious study that claimed more Republicans than Democrats died during the COVID pandemic — and he did so without pushing back on the study’s suspicious methodology.
And then after the recent racially motivated mass shooting in Jacksonville the following month, he echoed Democrat Party talking points about how racially motivated crimes are mainly a Republican phenomenon.
And don’t forget what he said last year, when he suggested that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ decision to fly illegal aliens to blue enclaves was a plot to distract from Sen. Lindsey Graham’s national 15-week abortion ban proposal.

The crazy thing is that, despite his hardcore left-wing advocacy, many leftists don’t believe he was sycophantic enough to the Democrat Party.
These leftists had in fact been calling for him to be replaced for years. And so not surprisingly, they were in full celebration mode Sunday.
Finally! Maybe the show can recover and be good again.

He’s leaving? Good riddance. I hope he takes Andrea Mitchell with him.

@chucktodd always yawed too far right in an effort to remain, I guess in his mind, fair!

Again, these are all leftists who resent Todd for somehow not being left-wing enough, despite him constantly echoing Democrat Party talking points.
The good news is that his replacement, Kristen Welker, has the potential to be an actual journalist versus just a Democrat Party sycophant. The perfect example of why comes from April, when she called out the Biden administration over its BS rhetoric regarding what had happened in Afghanistan.
“Tonight, nearly two years after the deadly and disastrous American withdrawal from Afghanistan, those stunning images of Afghans desperately chasing U.S. planes, and the airport terror attack — which killed 13 U.S. servicemembers — the Biden administration releasing its after-action review, trying to pin much of the blame on former President Trump, who had left office eight months earlier, including citing sharp drawdowns of U.S. troops,” she said, according to Breitbart.
She continued by noting that while the report admitted that the Afghanistan evacuation should have begun earlier, “President Biden, at the time, called the withdrawal a[n] ‘extraordinary success’.”
“Meanwhile, in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan tonight, women face new oppression and Afghan interpreters who helped the U.S. are in hiding. Just last month, the CENTCOM commander warned ISIS in Afghanistan could conduct terror attacks against U.S. interests abroad in under six months,” she added.
Watch Todd passing his “baton” to Welker in the clip below:
“For nearly a decade, I’ve had the honor of helping to explain America to Washington and Washington to America. And it’s that education piece that I’m hanging my hat on for the rest of my professional life.” pic.twitter.com/Lo60nrdGnC
