CNN “medical analyst” Jonathan Reiner, a COVID zealot known for his extreme takes, has smeared Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph A. Ladapo as “disgraceful” for recommending that children not be vaccinated for the coronavirus.

Speaking with CNN’s Jake Tapper on Wednesday, he was asked about recently released guidance from Ladapo encouraging encouraging parents of children between the ages of 5 and 17 to abstain from getting their kids vaccinated.

In response, Reiner, also known for his rants, began ranting and raving.

“Florida has a disgraceful surgeon general. I think what is incredibly — what has become abundantly clear is that children do get this virus,” he said.

“Most children thankfully will do fine with it, but the CDC says we’ve lost about 1,400 kids to coronavirus, and thousands and thousands of children have been hospitalized. That can almost entirely be prevented by vaccination.”

In the guidance issued Tuesday, Ladapo argued that “the risks of administering COVID-19 vaccination among healthy children may outweigh the benefits.”

He based the assertion on the fact that the COVID vaccine has injured some some children by giving them myocarditis, which is a side effect of the vaccine.

Note how the tweet below by Republican Rep. Thomas Massie hasn’t been flagged as “misinformation” by Twitter. There’s a reason for that.

Continuing his rant, Reiner then sought to dictate Florida’s health policy.

“And even though there’s some data that suggests children between 5 and 11 have had a bit less of a benefit in terms of preventing infection with this vaccine, the vaccine remains very, very effective preventing those children from serious illness. Every child in this country should be vaccinated for coronavirus,” he said.

He concluded by smearing the Florida surgeon general one last time.

“The surgeon general … of Florida has been anti-mask. He’s been anti-vax. He’s been associated with the discredited America’s Frontline Physicians. It’s an embarrassment,” he said.

The group’s actually named America’s Frontline Doctors, and it’s staffed by thousands of trained medical professionals who were driven out of their posts for simply refusing to get vaccinated — even if they had natural immunity.

After his appearance on CNN, Reiner then took to Twitter to double down on his arguments.

Note how one critic mentioned certain Pfizer documents. Last week the Food and Drug Administration began releasing thousands of documents from its official review of Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine.

According to CTV, the documents include “an appendix listing hundreds of reported adverse events from its COVID-19 vaccine, all of which are defined as being of ‘special interest.'”

The Express, a tabloid outlet, has claimed the documents list over 158,000 adverse events. It’s not clear whether this claim is legitimate.

Some of Reiner’s extreme takes include accusing former President Donald Trump of committing “negligent homicide” and “criminal endangerment” when he held campaign allies during the 2020 presidential election.
