‘Cover up for pedophiles’: Epstein maniac Massie warns GOP colleagues who would try to block file release

The ongoing congressional battle over the so-called Epstein files reached a fevered pitch on Wednesday when Republican Rep. Thomas Massie warned his GOP colleagues to get with the program or else.

Speaking with CNN’s Manu Raju, Massie urged his colleagues to side against President Donald Trump and vote to approve a bill that would compel the Department of Justice to release the official Epstein files.

He even went so far as to accuse those of his colleagues who planned to vote in Trump’s favor of trying to “cover up for pedophiles.”

“The deal for Republicans on this vote is that Trump will protect you if you vote the wrong way,” he said. “In other words, if you vote to cover up for pedophiles, you’ve got cover in a Republican primary.”

“But I would remind my colleagues that this vote is gonna be on your record for longer than Trump is gonna be president. And what are you gonna do in 2028 and 2030 when you’re in a debate, either with a Republican or a Democrat, and they say, ‘How can we trust you? You covered up for a pedophile back in 2025,'” he added.

Keep in mind that even if Massie’s beloved bill passes the House, it’d still require a filibuster-proof 60 votes or more in the Senate to reach the White House. And even then, Trump could just veto the legislation.

The bill that Massie wants passed, the Epstein Files Transparency Act, would specifically compel the DOJ to release its investigative materials (witness statements, flight logs, etc.) from the Epstein investigation.

Earlier Wednesday, Massie’s colleagues on the House Oversight Committee released 20,000 pages of separate files obtained via subpoena directly from Epstein’s estate without any government involvement.

These files consisted primarily of administrative and financial records concerning Epstein’s assets.

Oversight Committee Republicans purposefully released these 20,000 pages to undercut Democrats, who even earlier in the day published emails from Epstein’s estate referencing President Trump.

“I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is trump,” Epstein wrote in one email to his madam, Ghislaine Maxwell, in early 2011. “[Victim] spent hours at my house with him ,, he has never once been mentioned.”

Republicans immediately pushed back by claiming the redacted “victim” was none other than deceased Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre, who, before her death, had repeatedly claimed that she’d never seen Trump do anything inappropriate around her.

“Why did Democrats cover up the name when the Estate didn’t redact it in the redacted documents provided to the committee?” Republicans asked in a scathing post published on X.

“It’s because this victim, Virginia Giuffre, publicly said that she never witnessed wrongdoing by President Trump. Democrats are trying to create a fake narrative to slander President Trump. Shame on them,” they added.

They doubled down in an official statement made to the Washington Post.

“Democrats continue to carelessly cherry-pick documents to generate clickbait that is not grounded in the facts,” they said. “The Epstein Estate has produced over 20,000 pages of documents on Thursday.”

“Yet Democrats are once again intentionally withholding records that name Democrat officials. Democrats should stop politicizing this investigation and focus on delivering transparency, accountability, and justice for the survivors,” they added.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt echoed her congressional peers in a statement.

“These stories are nothing more than bad-faith efforts to distract from President Trump’s historic accomplishments, and any American with common sense sees right through this hoax and clear distraction from the government opening back up again,” she said.
