On Thursday, a top Russian official accused Rosemont Seneca, the notorious investment firm co-founded by Hunter Biden, of being involved in the funding of the U.S. Department of Defense’s alleged biolabs in Ukraine.

A day later, the Daily Mail published emails from Biden’s infamous laptop showing that the accusation by Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the commander of the Russian Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection Forces, was “at least partially true.”

“[E]mails from Hunter’s abandoned laptop show he helped secure millions of dollars of funding for Metabiota, a Department of Defense contractor specializing in research on pandemic-causing diseases that could be used as bioweapons,” the outlet reported.

“He also introduced Metabiota to an allegedly corrupt Ukrainian gas firm, Burisma, for a ‘science project’ involving high biosecurity level labs in Ukraine. And although Metabiota is ostensibly a medical data company, its vice president emailed Hunter in 2014 describing how they could ‘assert Ukraine’s cultural and economic independence from Russia’ – an unusual goal for a biotech firm,” Daily Mail noted.

That was the same year, 2014, that the Maidan Revolution occurred and Russia-friendly, just-elected Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych was ousted, allegedly in part because of efforts by the U.S. government to seed dissent among the Ukrainian people.

Below is an email sent to Biden that year by then-Metabiota vice president Mary Guttieri in which she thanked him for having met with her and described how the company was looking to “leverage our team, networks, and concepts to assert Ukraine’s cultural and economic independence from Russia and continued integration into Western society.”

According to the Daily Mail, four days after Guttieri sent this email, Burisma executive Vadym Pozharskyi wrote an email asking questions about the “science project” Biden had apparently pitched to Guttieri.

“Please find few initial points to be discussed for the purposes of analyzing the potential of this as you called, ‘Science Ukraine’ project,'” Pozharskyi wrote.

The Daily Mail asserts that these findings suggest that Biden “had a prominent role in making sure Metabiota was able to conduct its pathogen research just a few hundred miles from the border with Russia,” which is indeed exactly what Kirillov had hinted at.

Kirillov spoke on Thursday at a press briefing during which the findings of an investigation into Ukraine’s biolabs were revealed. One of these findings pertained to Rosemont Seneca and, thus, Biden.

“The incoming materials allow us to trace the scheme of interaction between US government agencies and Ukrainian biological objects. Attention is drawn to the involvement in the financing of these activities of structures close to the current US leadership, in particular the Rosemont Seneca investment fund, which is headed by Hunter Biden,” the Russian official said, according to RT.

Furthermore, Kirillov specifically named Metabiota, in addition to the ostensible engineering fund Black & Veatch, saying that companies such as these were “the main supplier of equipment for Pentagon biolaboratories around the world.”

Documents reportedly shared by Kirillov showed that the companies had allegedly participated in a $32 million program — Biden’s “science project”? — aimed at “organizing work of the laboratories, built and modernized with the help of the donor [the US government],” in addition to “monitoring infectious diseases” and setting up systems to “react rapidly” to outbreaks.

And judging by the email from Guttieri, the companies had participated in this program partly to help Ukraine push away from Russia and toward the West — which, incidentally, is exactly the complaint behind Russia’s recent invasion of the nation.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has complained that, instead of being a buffer state between the West and his country, Ukraine has become a tool and puppet of the West — namely the United States and NATO — and thus poses a liability to his people.

This complaint about Ukraine being usurped as per NATO expansion has existed for years and can even be traced back to former Russian President Boris Yeltsin:

But for years, the United States and NATO not only ignored Russia’s complaints but also went ahead and intervened directly in Ukraine’s affairs by allegedly funding apparent “science projects” and also allegedly encouraging the Maidan Revolution.

All this comes amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine that populists like former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard and Fox News host Tucker Carlson worry could lead to one of these biolabs being breached:

The problem is that both the U.S. government and the establishment press refuse to acknowledge any of the evidence pertaining to the biolabs’ existence and the United States’ involvement in keeping them running and operational …
