Dem mayor under fire for evoking allegedly old convo about ‘ti**ies’ in squabble with county official

A star Democrat Alabama mayor is facing scrutiny after he was exposed for the foul, intimidating way he spoke to a local city commissioner.

Last October, Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin called Jefferson County Commissioner Lashunda Scales to accuse her of spreading political rumors about him, according to AL.com.

“You can’t keep my name out your mouth — that’s the problem!” he said during the call. “You can’t keep my name out your mouth. You can’t keep my name out your mouth, that’s the bottom line. So be honest. I’m calling you out.”

“Are you telling me that’s what you call me for?” Scales then asked.

“I think you already know the answer to that answer,” Woodfin replied. “We’re talking grown folk talk now.”

The mayor then asked Scales whether she remembered that their “last conversation was about two ti**ies.”

“You remember that conversation?” he continued asking. “Cause I remember well.”

“Wait a minute, the last conversation was about what?” Scales asked in total shock.

“Ti**ies,” Woodfin replied, after he spelled out the word. “You remember that?”

“And you’re saying that in regards to what, Randall?” Scales then asked.

“I’m saying in regards to you,” he fired back. “We ain’t got to talk to each other, but you can’t not for some reason after eight years keep my name out your mouth.”

Woodfin then threatened to actively support Scales’ top political foe if she didn’t stop running her mouth about him.

“Now you do as you will,” Scales responded. “I think you’re giving a very arrogant attitude about your ability to cross into various elections. But don’t ever call me and say anything like that, OK?”

Released by AL.com, this phone conversation has since gone uber viral, prompting Woodfin to release a very lengthy statement on Facebook pushing back against the narrative forming against him.

Everybody wants to know about “two ti**ies.” So let’s talk about it.

The last real conversation I had with Lashunda…

Everybody wants to know about ‘two ti**ies,'” he wrote in the stunning post. “So let’s talk about it.”

He then explained exactly what had occurred during his previous call with Scales, which he wrote occurred right after he was elected mayor in 2017.

According to Woodfin, when he called Scales, who at the time was a Birmingham City Council member, to thank her for her support, she argued that he owed her. He allegedly responded by saying he wanted to work fairly and legally with all eight Birmingham City Council members. But that, according to him, just upset her.

“You really don’t get it,” she allegedly said.

When he then asked her to explain, she pulled out the ti**ies.

“You got two ti**ies, right?” she allegedly said. “Then give me one ti**y and you can give the other eight councilors the other ti**y.”

But Woodfin wasn’t feeling this unethical arrangement.

“I don’t get down like that, and I’m going to treat all ya’ll fair,” he allegedly replied.

“Oh, we’ll see,” Scales allegedly then said before the conversation ended.

Continuing his Facebook post, Woodfin then ripped into Scales.

“So let’s talk about who Lashunda Scales really is,” he began. “She left the City Council because I wouldn’t play her game or give her political handouts. She’s used every opportunity since to fight against the progress our administration has made. Not because they were bad policies, but because they weren’t about her.”

“She’s made a name for herself by opposing and undermining efforts this administration has made to make our residents’ lives better, including Birmingham Promise,” he added.

According to Woodfin, Scales is a full-fledged bad hombre.

“This is someone with a documented history of derogatory and disrespectful comments about our LGBTQ+ community,” he explained. “This is someone who has faced criminal charges while trying to climb the political ladder. This is someone who has run for office five times in the last eight years.”

“And this is someone who has never passed up a chance to put herself ahead of the people she was elected to serve. That’s not public service. That’s not leadership. And that’s not what Birmingham needs. Not now. Not ever,” he concluded.

He wasn’t wrong. Scales was charged in 2013 with two felony indictments and six counts of using her position for personal gain and voter intimidation.

Yet Scales has for her dismissed Woodfin’s attack.

“While he has no proof of the accounts he has alleged against my good name and character, I have presented solid evidence of the constant bullying I have experienced from Mayor Woodfin,” she told AL.com.
