DOGE came knocking at a hub of weaponized government as reports detailed the “insane misallocation of resources” that had been turned on Jan. 6.
Living up to the name, the Department of Government Efficiency started swiftly sifting through the Washington, D.C. swamp, exposing alleged waste, fraud, and abuse. Tuesday, as reporting revealed over 5,000 FBI employees had been assigned to the Jan. 6 investigation and legal action had been taken to protect their identities, CNN confirmed that DOGE officials had been spotted at the J. Edgar Hoover Building.
Their presence at the FBI headquarters came days after officials working under the direction of DOGE head Elon Musk, cheekily referring to himself as “White House Tech Support” on X, were dispatched to the Treasury Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development.
It also came as employees who were counted among the G-men resisted acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove’s memo issued Friday giving the FBI until noon Tuesday to provide information about those who took part in the Jan. 6 investigations.
“The very act of compiling lists of persons who worked on matters that upset Donald Trump is retaliatory in nature, intended to intimidate FBI agents and other personnel, and to discourage them from reporting any future malfeasance and by Donald Trump and his agents,” contended the lawsuit as agents were asked to fill out a survey included with the court filing that sought to determine who had participated in grand jury investigations, execution of arrests and trial testimony.
Similarly, Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin submitted a letter along with the rest of the Democrats from the Senate Judiciary Committee to DOJ officials stating in part, “We have grave concerns about the removal or reassignment across the Department of Justice…and Federal Bureau of Investigation…of senior career civil servants who have served honorably under multiple administrations, regardless of the President’s party.”
“The removals and reassignments from their positions of a significant number of experienced, nonpartisan Department officials with invaluable national security expertise without any comparable replacements one day into the second Trump Administration presents an alarming threat to national security,” the letter fearmongered. “As many as 20 senior Department officials were reassigned or removed, including the veteran career deputy assistant attorneys general in the Department’s National Security Division.”
Without revealing names, ID numbers, and job titles were returned with the details of over 5,000 employees from the agency comprised of 13,000 agents and a total workforce of 38,000.
Incredulous at the prospect of at least 13% of the FBI set on investigating those present when the U.S. Capitol had been breached as crime rates across the country climbed during the Biden administration, the X account End Wokeness shared one of the tame clips of J6ers walking through the U.S. Capitol, as most remained within the velvet ropes, under the caption, “HOLY SHIIIT. The FBI just revealed that 5,000 out of their 13,000 agents were focused on January 6th protestors. 39% of the entire bureau, for this.”
Reacting to those figures, Musk shared the post and added, “That is an insane misallocation of resources!”

A chief concern of the lawsuit was the potential for terminations as Attorney General Pam Bondi, who once vowed that the “prosecutors will be prosecuted,” cleared the confirmation process, and leaders from at least 20 FBI field offices were dismissed and “escorted out” with other agents Friday.
While it remains to be seen what will come of activity at the FBI, others reacted to the sheer volume of the agency that had been focused on Americans who, for many, the worst offense they had committed was being present on the Capitol grounds on Jan. 6.
“Well, they couldn’t dedicate the entire force. Some had to be at them school board meetings,” snarked one X user as another took note of another absurd focus, “Remember when they sent 18 agents to investigate a NASCAR garage pull?”
Don’t forget Latin Mass, and anti- abortion grannies.

How does this not sound like weaponization?
Think how hard they worked to take down Trump and the MAGA movement.
Now we see why….they knew what was coming for them.

So that’s 5,000 agents the FBI doesn’t actually need to continue to operate at full capacity.
Time to fire them all, then.

Fire them all

There are some good people at the FBI with high integrity, but we definitely need to exit the bad apples
