Doocy asks if there is a ‘carve-out’ in Covid rules for maskless, hugging Kamala; note Psaki’s response…

Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy once again held press secretary Jen Psaki’s feet to the fire about the Biden administration’s hypocrisy.

Vice President Kamala Harris was seen maskless at an event Friday for newly confirmed Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, and this after she had been presiding over the Senate on Thursday also without a mask, according to Politico.

Her failure to mask up was notable because her communications director, Jamal  Simons had just tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday and the White House addressed the development, saying Harris had been in “close contact” with Simmons.

“Individuals who have received their booster shot do not need to quarantine following an exposure, but should wear a mask for 10 days after the exposure,” reads the guideline from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

A maskless vice president, who was also seen hugging Justice Jackson, prompted Doocy to ask the pertinent questions at Friday’s White House press briefing.

“Is there a carve-out in CDC regulations for Covid for Vice President?” Doocy asked Psaki.

“Tell me more, Peter. I’m sure this is going somewhere. So what do you got for me on a Friday?” Psaki snarked back.

“The CDC says for people exposed to COVID, up-to-date on their COVID 19 vaccinations, ‘do not go to places where you are unable to wear a well-fitting mask,’” the reporter pointed out. “So why is she here at the White House today, giving the new Supreme Court Justice a big hug with no mask?”

“You mean when she gave her a hug outside?” Psaki inquired, to which Doocy replied, “yes.”

“She was outside,” the press secretary contended.

“Does the CDC say the people who are close contact can give people hugs outside?” Doocy pressed.

“We know, Peter, that outside it is — you are — You can benefit significantly being outside, that’s why we have — We had the event outside today!” Psaki declared. “I will tell you that the vice president has been wearing a mask inside. When there was a private greet they were all wearing masks.”

Doocy pointed out that the outdoors excuse was not in play when Harris did not don a mask at the Senate confirmation. Psaki shot back with a non-answer, saying the vice president was “playing an important role in confirming or overseeing the confirmation of the first black woman to the Supreme Court,” adding that she was socially distanced for the “vast majority” of the time.

“So this is not a case of rules for thee, but not for VP?” the Fox News correspondent bluntly asked.

“In fact, the vice president wore a mask inside today when she was both with the president, with her staff, other people. She was outside at the event,” Psaki responded. “She was socially distanced for ninety-nine point nine percent of the event today, and she had an emotional moment as which is understandable.”

Twitter users were not buying it.
