Resistance hero Alexander Vindman will not be a U.S. senator. Not in this election, not in this lifetime.
The former National Security Council official and key witness in the Democrats’ first failed impeachment of President Donald J. Trump was trounced in the Florida primary on Tuesday.
Vindman was upset by Florida State Rep. Angie Nixon in the latest win for the ascendant democratic socialists who clobbered the retired Army lieutenant colonel despite his huge fundraising advantage and endorsements from Sens. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) and Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), the latest blow to the party’s reeling establishment.
This is probably the biggest upset this year. Massive props to Angie Nixon for winning despite being massively outspent. https://t.co/giwYOY78OT

“We did it ya’ll,” a triumphant Nixon said in a Tuesday night post on X after she was declared the winner in a race that wasn’t close despite Vindman’s anti-Trump credentials and his overflowing campaign coffers.
Nixon had the backing of “Squad” members Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and foul-mouthed drama queen Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.), helping to power her upset, which wasn’t even close.
Angie Nixon. Florida got something to say!

The 56.1 to 43.9 margin was a brutal rebuke to the Democrat establishment, which has had a hellish summer.
“We showed the world what organized people can accomplish,” Nixon told her supporters after the big win. “And we showed the world what people of Florida are all about. Medicare for all. Universal child care. Real, affordable housing. Fully funded public education. And an end to senseless wars.”
The loser graciously accepted his defeat, saying that Nixon “ran a strong campaign” in a statement, playing the good soldier to achieve the party’s main objective – beating incumbent Sen. Ashley Moody (R-FL) in November.
“I will be standing by her side in the fight against Ashley Moody,” Vindman said. “I hope you’ll join me.”
Who would’ve ever thought that a Jewish refugee would make it to the U.S. Army, to the White House, and to becoming a candidate for the U.S. Senate. Only in America is that possible, and it would not have been possible without you, Florida.
I still believe in the American Dream,…

The winner will serve out the remainder of Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s term, which expires in 2028.
Nixon’s clubbing of the Ukraine-born Vindman was cheered by socialists who saw more vindication for their agenda.
Democratic Socialist State Representative Angie Nixon, outspent more than 16 to 1, pulled off a HUGE upset to win the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate in Florida.
Congratulations Angie!

Progressive Angie Nixon just beat Alex Vindman, a corporate Democrat in FL. He was a resistance hero and outspent her 16-1. Why did she win? 1. Word is out, establishment Democrats never do anything if they get into office. 2. He was for Israel and took AIPAC money, she didn’t!

After she easily won her own primary, Moody wasted no time in unloading on Nixon, whom she accused of wanting to “destroy this country and everything that it is built on.”
“We are staring down crazy and the socialists today,” she said in her victory speech.
“SleazeBag Vindman loses tonight to a Radical Left Lunatic. How cool is that???” Trump celebrated on Truth Social after the results came in.
