Elon Musk slams verdict, makes plans to host town hall for Trump: ‘Anyone is at risk of a similar fate.’

Billionaire Elon Musk will soon be giving former President Donald Trump a livestream platform to answer questions.

A few short years after being suspended from the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, Trump will be hosted by Musk in a town hall event that will also be broadcast on NewsNation.

“The plans are part of a broader push by Musk to make X a center of political discussion. X is also planning a similar town hall for the independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., according to a person familiar with the plans, who said the dates for the events haven’t been confirmed,” The Wall Street Journal reported.

Despite the presumptive 2024 GOP nominee being convicted on all 34 criminal charges in his New York hush-money case, Trump will still take part in the town hall as Musk seemed to confirm reports with a reaction on X.

“This will be interesting,” the Tesla/SpaceX CEO posted on X.

Following the guilty verdict, Musk reacted by posting that “great damage was done” to the “public’s faith in the American legal system.”

The Biden campaign reportedly declined an invitation to the event, according to The Wall Street Journal which cited people familiar with the event and with the thinking of the Biden campaign.

According to Axios, which reported on the scheduled event last week, the format “will allow users to submit questions to debate moderators before the event and in real time” and “X will create a live event page for each town hall to promote the live feed and curate conversations around the event.”

Moderators for the live event have not yet been named and a date has not yet been announced.

Back in March, Musk said he was not donating to either Biden or Trump campaigns this year but revealed in a post that he was “leaning away” from supporting Biden.
