The former chief political correspondent at Fox News believes the police need to monitor the network–specifically, Tucker Carlson–following the slaughter in Buffalo of 10 black Americans at the hands of alleged shooter Payton Gendron.
In a lengthy manifesto, Gendron, 18. cited “White replacement theory” as a reason for his rampage, a theory that states white people in America are being systematically “replaced” by an influx of brown and black immigrants. As American Wire has previously reported, since the incident in Buffalo, Tucker Carlson has been under assault for allegedly “pushing” the theory in the past.
Appearing on CNN’s “Newsroom” with Jim Acosta, Carl Cameron was asked if he believed “the Murdoch family in charge of Fox will ever pull the plug on Tucker?”
In response, Cameron likened Carlson’s show to shouting “fire” in a crowded theater and said the Biden administration is “way overdue” in doing something about it.
“There is a point at which it becomes difficult for an executive to put up with the help,” he said. “In this particular case, Tucker has been screaming fire in a crowded movie house for years, and that cliché really comes to the matter of what is free speech, and the fact of the matter is, if you disturb the peace by starting a riot in a movie theater, cops are going to arrest you and you might end up in jail or you might end up in something worse.”
“That kind of stuff absolutely has to stop, whether it’s the antitrust bill to take down and de-platform people who lie and put out falsehoods that cause damage and violent, violent hate, there ought to be something done about it,” Cameron continued. “The administration is beginning to actually make a move on that. It’s been way overdue.”
But Cameron doesn’t want the government to stop at censoring Carlson. He supports censoring social media as well because Americans apparently don’t know they’re being gaslighted by fake Americans.
“It’s not just Fox,” Cameron said. “It’s social media in general. It’s on the internet. And we have to remember that a good portion of what we read is coming from folks who aren’t Americans, pretending to be Americans in order to gaslight them even worse.”
Acosta pointed to Hungarian President Viktor Orbán, who called Carlson a “friend” at CPAC Hungary and said his show should be viewed “24/7.”
“It’s horrifying. This is the kind of nonsense that we expect in eastern European countries that were blasted by the Soviet Union for years and years and years,” Cameron claimed, adding that Orbán is “a classic sort of autocratic fascist.”
“People like Tucker Carlson are participating in spreading that in the United States,” he continued. “There is no place for it. It has to be stopped. The idea of replacement theory is ridiculous. It’s a made-up thing, and the fact that there are changes in our demography has always been positive in this country.”
“Now that Republicans, led by Trump for the last few years, are trying to say that that’s American politics, it absolutely isn’t. Those who pretend to do this are hurting the constitution and hurting our country, and they’re going to pay for it sooner or later,” he said.

According to Cameron, only Dems can save America from the “very dangerous road” Republicans and, of course, former President Donald Trump have led the nation down.
“At this point, we have a huge portion of the population led by Republicans and Donald Trump exclusively,” he stated. “We are going down a very, very dangerous road where, in other parts of the world, civil rights and civility, in general, has been decimated by the kind of stuff that’s being perpetuated, and it’s got to stop.”
“Democrats have to kick it in,” Cameron said. “The president has to be more forceful. Sooner or later, the law enforcement and the U.S. Government is going to have to stop the lying because it’s causing people’s deaths.”
