‘Game changer’: RFK’s running mate says joining forces with Trump is one of two options going forward

An appeal to unity could be on the horizon as Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate laid out options under consideration that could prove “the ultimate checkmate.”

From fending off a primary challenge to contesting ballot access, the Democratic Party demonstrated complete opposition to the environmental attorney’s bid to run a successful campaign for president. Now, as the Democratic National Convention is underway, his running mate Nichole Shanahan teased two paths forward in their stand against a Harris-Walz administration that included joining the Trump train.

During an interview on the “Impact Theory” podcast, the entrepreneur and attorney explained to host Tom Bilyeu, “There’s two options that we’re looking at and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Walz presidency because we draw votes from Trump — we draw somehow more votes from Trump.”

“Or we walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump and, you know, we walk away from that and explain to our base why we’re making this decision,” she went on after having explained a goal with staying in would be to achieve a 5% threshold that would garner an Independent Party official recognition and access to millions in public funds for maintenance.

Without specifically referencing his running mate’s remarks, Kennedy posted to X Tuesday, “As always, I am willing to talk with leaders of any political party to further the goals I have served for 40 years in my career and in this campaign. These are: reversing the chronic disease epidemic, ending the war machine, cleaning corporate influence out of government and toxic pollution out of the environment, protecting freedom of speech, and ending politicization of enforcement agencies.”

The position came within a week of the candidate thoroughly slamming Harris and her party asserting they “would be unrecognizable to my father and uncle and I cannot reconcile it with my values.”

“The Democratic Party of RFK and JFK was the party of civil liberties and free speech,” he continued. “VP Harris’s is the party of censorship, lockdowns, and medical coercion. Kennedy Democrats were anti-war. Kamala’s is riddled with neocon warmongers. The RFK/JFK dems were allies of Main Street, cops, firefighters, and working people. VP Harris’s is the Party of Big Tech, Big Pharma, and Wall Street. My dad and uncle’s party was the champion of voting rights and fair elections. VP Harris’s is the party of lawfare, disenfranchisement, and the coronation of its candidates by corporate donors and party elites.”

Furthering those positions, Shanahan released a video prior to Biden’s speech at the DNC and said, “Tonight, we are going to hear from President Joe Biden who, at this point, is basically president in name only. You know, no matter what your opinion is of Joe Biden — if you love him, hate him, or don’t really care — you have to realize something feels very wrong about how the Democratic Party ran a full-court pressure campaign to get him out of office after he won 14-15 million votes in the primaries.”

Having raised the concern about him bowing out over Biden’s ability to serve another four years but somehow remaining in office, she went on, “Any impartial observer can look at that and realize the DNC machine did what they always do. They pushed someone out they couldn’t successfully puppeteer.”

Suggesting they had done as much to Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders in 2016 and 2020, the vice presidential candidate stated, “They also did it to Bobby Kennedy and our campaign in this election. Now, they’ve done it to President Biden. So much for defending democracy.”

After prompting voters to look at the campaign video “The Big Cheat” that laid out their case for that, she asked social media users to sound off with their opinions on the nation under the Biden-Harris administration.

Shanahan went on to tell Bilyeu that she would consider a run for governor of California to “nip this dynastic lineage in the bud” as reactions to the possibility of the Independent campaign backing former President Donald Trump poured in with enthusiasm.
