‘What the hell is this?’ Vance lights up ‘disgusting’ Dem gov for suggesting member of his family be raped

A Democratic governor went to extremes in expressing his opposition to Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance’s pro-life views that begged the question, “What the hell is this?”

With a mobile sterilization station parked outside the Democratic National Convention and main stage pitches for terminating a pregnancy, the left wasn’t coy about expressing the “Joy” they found in murdering unborn babies. To hammer home his disdain for those aiming to preserve the sanctity of life, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear appeared to express his wish that a member of Vance’s family be raped.

“I mean, think about what some people have had to go through because of these laws. I mean, J.D. Vance calls pregnancy resulting from rape ‘inconvenient,'” the governor said during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Tuesday.

“Wow,” said co-host Mike Brzezinski as Beshear continued. “Inconvenience is traffic. I mean, it is — make him go through this.”

“What the hell is this?” reacted Vance. “Why is @AndyBeshearKY wishing that a member of my family would get raped?!? What a disgusting person.”

Making clear that he understood the cruelty that he was suggesting, the governor went on to add to his argument, “I mean, it is someone being violated, someone being harmed and then telling them that they don’t have options after that. That fails any test of decency, of humanity — but here’s the thing, it also shows they don’t have any empathy at all.”

Beshear’s remark referenced a quote from a 2021 interview Vance did with Spectrum News where he said, “I think two wrongs don’t make a right. At the end of the day, we’re talking about an unborn baby. What kind of society do we want to have? Do we want to have a society that sees unborn babies as inconveniences to be discarded?”

“It’s not whether a woman should be forced to bring a child to term, it’s whether a child should be allowed to live, even though the circumstances of that child’s birth are somehow inconvenient or a problem to the society. The question really, to me, is about the baby,” said then-candidate Vance.

During the opening night of the Republican National Convention, Vance further clarified to Fox News host Sean Hannity, “The Democrats have completely twisted my words. What I did say, is that we sometimes, in this society, see babies as an inconvenience and I absolutely want us to change that, I do want us to be more pro-life.”

Tuesday, Vance’s Communications Director William Martin released a statement on Beshear’s “vile comments” calling for a repudiation of the governor from Vice President Kamala Harris.

“After speaking on the DNC main stage last night, Harris campaign surrogate Governor Andy Beshear went on national television this morning and explicitly called for a member of Senator Vance’s family to be raped,” said Martin. “His comments are disgusting, vile, and should not be tolerated in American politics. We call on Kamala Harris to immediately repudiate Governor Beshear’s comments and demonstrate that regardless of partisan disagreements, this kind of violent rhetoric has no place in our public discourse.”

Others sounded off as well as they remained unsurprised at the extent of the rhetoric from the Democratic Party.
