U.S. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna punched back at The Washington Post over a sloppy, factually challenged hit piece that she described as being “incredibly racist” for being dismissive of her Hispanic heritage.
The Florida Republican reacted to the dastardly smears from the once-venerable newspaper that is among the top water carriers for the Democratic Party, appearing on Fox News where she rebutted a myriad of sketchy if not outright false claims in the smear job that has already resulted in the outlet having to issue a correction over its reporting.

On Friday’s edition of “Jesse Watters Primetime,” the congresswoman slammed the Post’s distortions as Democrats and their media toadies seem to have adopted the George Santos strategy as a means to pick off conservative lawmakers who are members of the GOP’s razor-thin House majority.
Asked by guest host Will Cain about what the WaPo got wrong, Luna said, “Well, they did start out with saying that I basically made up the fact that my father never went to jail and, as you saw with the records that we sent to Fox News, that’s completely false,” referring to materials provided to the network.
She added, “The Washington Post didn’t respond to a response from Fox Digital, nor did any of the other people that made these bizarre allegations and we will be issuing these letters, to correct, to Vanity Fair and a few other major outlets [that] decided to run with the story before they corrected the facts.”
“I will say that People magazine did reach out and they wanted to wait to see this before they ran the story. So I’ll be interviewing with them after, but, it’s awful how they treat minorities. And the fact is, is that their undertone of their article was incredibly racist, they tried to undercut my Hispanic heritage.”
The congresswoman who, like Santos, is a freshman Latino later added, “the racist undertone of this article is pretty mind-blowing.”
“Twelve years before she was elected as the first Mexican American woman to represent Florida in Congress, Anna Paulina Luna was serving at Whiteman Air Force Base in Warrensburg, Mo., where friends said she described herself as alternately Middle Eastern, Jewish or Eastern European. Known then by her given last name of Mayerhofer, Luna sported designer clothing and expressed support for then-President Barack Obama,” the Post reported in the hit piece that portrays her as a liar and an opportunist.
Holy shit the Washington post just tried to claim my dad was never incarcerated, left out comments from my mom, said I was a registered Democrat, and did not report a convo they had with a former roommate, and interviewed “family” I don’t talk to. This is comical.

However, the paper has already had to add an embarrassing correction, “We incorrectly stated that Anna Paulina Luna was reg’d as a Dem in Washington state in 2017 based on an erroneous voter reg database. Wash only requires voters declare party affiliation when they cast a ballot in a POTUS primary. So sorry for the error!”

Rep. Luna is already threatening to sue the pants off of the Post along with other media outlets that have amplified the smears.
“Here come the receipts. We have sent letters from my attorney to the Washington Post & Salon to issue corrections or we will sue. We are also sending to Vanity Fair, Business Insider, Yahoo News , Independent , any other outlet that reports false info,” she tweeted on Friday.
“It just went from bad to worse for the Washington Post. Their ‘source’ now has changed her story, and after stating that Fox News never reached out to her (lie), is saying the @washingtonpost did not accurately report my story (fact). With that, I rest my case,” Luna added in a later tweet as the WaPo’s sleazy exposé suffered another hit.

Not that any more evidence is needed as to why the corrupt establishment media is now viewed as the enemy of the people by millions of Americans but The Washington Post just served it up anyway.
