Gun control, LGBTQ+ activists storm state Capitols — Just don’t say the ‘i’ word

In case you were wondering whether our world has flipped upside-down, gun control activists joined trans activists — complete with their own horned “ShaThem” — and stormed both Tennessee’s State Capitol and Kentucky’s State Capitol on Thursday, battling with police and shouting slogans ahead of Saturday’s planned “Trans Day of Vengence” in Washington, D.C.

And not one Democrat is screaming, “Insurrection!”

But plenty of conservatives, dripping in sarcasm, are making the point stick on social media.

In Tennessee, the woke mob was out to demand gun control measures after transgender shooter Audrey Hale walked into a Nashville Christian school and murdered three nine-year-old children and three adults.

The left wasted no time in blaming the right for her vile act.

“As we learn more, it’s clear the Nashville Covenant School is a right-wing institution in which Audrey Hale and many others were abused,” tweeted Eli Erlick, who has admitted to violating the law to help minors suffering gender dysphoria gain access to hormones. “Obviously, this isn’t an excuse to attack it. But there are problems with deregulating religious schools + the US’s lack of mental healthcare.”

Thousands showed up at Tennessee’s Capitol, “passionately pleading for gun control,” local station WKRN reported.

“I’m tired of thoughts and prayers,” one protestor, Shaundealle Brooks, said. “We want action.”

Reports WKRN:

The large crowd inside the Capitol could be heard chanting, “Ban assault rifles.”

Outside the chamber doors, tense moments followed the rally. The outcry turned chaotic at times, especially as lawmakers came out of the chambers.

Capitol security had to clear a path for lawmakers, pushing through the crowd of protesters who demanded to be heard.

Not once did the word “insurrection” appear in the article.

Indeed, “two Democratic lawmakers caused a temporary shutdown when they joined in on the revelry,” the Daily Mail reports.

Meanwhile, in Kentucky on Wednesday, as the state House was voting to override Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear’s veto of a bill that would ban transgender-affirming “care” for minors, trans activists descended on the Capitol.

“Hundreds of Kentucky students converged on the steps of the state Capitol Annex to protest the override,” reported Austin Horn for the Lexington Herald-Leader. “Many protesters moved inside once the legislature gaveled in, chanting and jeering loudly from the Capitol’s halls.”

Kentucky State Police ultimately arrested 19 people at the rally, citing them for 3rd-degree criminal trespassing. They were released on their own recognizance, thanks to the Franklin Country District Court.

But, once again, the word “insurrection” was not uttered.

The insanity even spread to Texas, where trans activists staged a “die-in” at the state’s Capitol on March 28 in protest of the Lone Star State’s attempt to protect children from transgender procedures.

“After the hearing, protesters gathered for a brief rally and ‘die-in,'” according to KXAN’s Daniel Gravois. “They used their bodies to symbolize how many transgender lives could be lost if the bill were to become law, according to Ash Hall, policy and advocacy strategist for LGBTQ+ rights, ACLU Texas.”

“A trans die-in after a trans person killed six people including three children is the height of absurdity,” tweeted Brandon Morse of Red State. “Maybe if trans people really wanted to stop trans people from dying, they should encourage more access to suicide hotlines.”

In the face of such Capitol chaos, conservatives, weary from years of persecution following the events of January 6, could do little more than mock the mayhem.

“IT’S A TRANSURRECTION!” exclaimed Gays Against Groomers on Twitter. “Get the @FBI!!”

“Thug of the day award goes to the shaTHEM who nearly destroyed our democracy after holding an insurrection with many other criminals,” announced one user about the Kentucky protests.

And of the Texas Capitol protest, one Twitter user stated simply, “We are no longer a serious state.”
