Herschel Walker answers why Trump is not rallying: ‘He’s been doing other things for me’

GOP candidate Herschel Walker sounded both diplomatic and confident in responding to a question about why former President Trump has not scheduled a rally on his behalf in advance of the December 6 runoff election in Georgia.

Walker appeared on the Fox News Channel Tuesday evening to discuss the close contest with incumbent radical Democrat, Sen. Raphael Warnock.

Georgians have already cast ballots in record-setting droves during the early voting window despite fear-mongering Democrats hyperventilating about Georgia’s 2021 voting reform law.

“Ingraham Angle” host Laura Ingraham introduced the segment by wondering, given the high stakes involved, whether the GOP is backing Walker, the Trump-endorsed former NCAA and NFL star, with sufficient intensity.

She pointed out that “the GOP is being outspent big time” in the campaign.

Plus, Barack Obama is campaigning with Warnock, and the former president’s wife is making robocalls on the senator’s behalf. If Warnock wins, the Democrats will no longer have to rely on Vice President Kamala Harris to break ties in a 50-50 U.S. Senate.

“Herschel, why is it that that President Trump is not coming to have a rally in this last week before the final election day?” especially with Obama stumping for Walker’s opponent, Ingraham wondered.

“You know, President Trump has always been in my corner, he still is in my corner, and he’s been doing other things for me, and everyone has been doing a lot of things for me,” Walker asserted.  “Tonight, we just got out of a fundraiser with Governor Kemp with a lot of other people that was at the fundraiser, and President Trump is doing just as much for me.”

Trump campaigned in person with Walker in September 2021 and March 2022. Walker did not specify precisely what Trump is doing for him currently.

Separately, according to Fox News, Trump will hold a “tele-rally” with Walker, however, in the coming days.

In the interview with Ingraham, Walker went on to maintain that “President Obama is a celebrity and that seems to be where Raphael Warnock is getting his money from, celebrities. But he’s not gonna win this race. I told people before he may outraise me in money, but I guarantee you he won’t get more votes than I’m gonna get.”

Walker also opined that given the Democrats’ dismal domestic record, the only advantage they have is in raking in cash.

Given that the contest is tied according to polling, Ingraham called on the entire GOP establishment to support Walker. Several Republican luminaries have hit the campaign trail with Walker, and “The political newcomer is also receiving support from the Senate Leadership Fund, the political PAC aligned with Minority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.,” FNC added.

It’s conceivable that Trump may be steering clear of Georgia to avoid providing an incentive for knee-jerk liberals in that state from voting against Walker because of their animosity toward the 45th president.

According to the Political Wire, “The decision to keep Mr. Trump out of the spotlight was a response largely to the former president’s political style and image, which can energize his core supporters but also motivate Democratic voters and turn off significant segments of moderate Republicans.”

Recall that the GOP lost both Senate runoffs in January 2021.

This calculation, too, comes at a time when Trump is immersed in a controversy over the ill-fated Mar-a-Lago dinner with Kanye West along with an uninvited, attention-seeking guest with a track record of bigotry.

Parenthetically, no one should reasonably expect Trump to be familiar with every fringe crank, but it is reasonable to expect staffers, and others in his orbit, to properly screen guests entering the resort.

Highlighting Warnock’s far-left voting history, Walker explained that “we can’t have six more years of this. And that’s the reason I decided to run. That’s why I encourage people to get behind me because I’m gonna fight for Georgia and I’m gonna fight for America.”

Although Walker, who is hardly a conventional politician, has faced some allegations involving his personal life, the latest Walker political ad — which Ingraham played during her show — focuses on Warnock’s sketchy background.
