House Democrats argue Karmelo Anthony should be ‘allowed’ to stab white student in the heart

Congressional Democrats’ view of Karmelo Anthony’s murder conviction as a “travesty” fully embraced race-baiting with a suggestion about what should be “allowed” for a “young black person.”

Hours after Anthony was found guilty of the murder of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at a Frisco, Texas, school track meet, a sentence was handed down for 35 years’ incarceration. Adding to the racially-charged discourse surrounding the case, Texas Rep. Christian Menefee (D) repeated the claim of an “all-white jury” as he argued black people are “not allowed self-defense.”

According to Fox News, when Menefee was asked for his thoughts on the verdict, he deemed it, “A travesty, two lives ruined, and what struck me most is that you had an all-white jury. You had preemptive strikes that were used in order to achieve an all-white jury.”

Numerous reports have debunked the claim of an “all-white jury,” indicating that it included three people of Asian descent, one hijab-wearing Muslim woman, and a Hispanic male. Furthermore, four black individuals had testified on behalf of the victim, maintaining that the murderer had not been provoked by Metcalf before he was fatally stabbed.

“Juries should represent the diversity of this country, and if a white kid was convicted of murder and it was an all-black jury that did the conviction, people would say this is patently unfair. So why should it be fair if it’s the other way around?” said Menefee.

Meanwhile, NBC 5 DFW had reported concerning jury selection that, “Some prospective jurors said the race of those involved in the case would influence how they voted.”

Those details led many to conclude that such laments were actually that the jury was not sufficiently comprised of black people to satisfy the inherent biases of those who held fast to the opinion that Anthony was not guilty.

Furthering such suspicions, Menefee argued, “Case after case after case you see that if it is a young black person, they’re not allowed to be fearful, they’re not allowed self-defense, they don’t get the same standard [sic] ground opportunities that other people get. But then other races do.”

Likewise, Louisiana Rep. Troy Carter (D) said, “Here is a case where a young man certainly appears to have been being attacked and defended himself.”

“It does bring in light the imbalance in our judicial system, as it relates to African Americans and people of color,” argued the congressman. “And that’s a shame. So hopefully, there’ll be an opportunity for some appeal and some further discussion.”

Outgoing Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D) continued her own despicable commentary on the murder, that included her downplaying the size of the weapon used and arguing black women have it worse than Metcalf’s family, also found her contending, “[Anthony] decided to go under a tent … and simply didn’t want to be put out in the rain by some random kid he didn’t know … The fact that there was little to no mercy seen, or humanity seen when this black boy said that ‘I was scared’ …”

Pereceived as her justifying the stabbing, White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller responded to the remarks, “You can no longer pretend not to know what Democrats will do with power.”

While Menefee went on to insist, “The American justice system does not work equally for everybody,” a reaction to his take reminded the congressman who the actual victim was in the tragedy.
