House Republican triggers firestorm with Haiti ‘nastiest country’ tweet

A House Republican was engulfed by a firestorm over a social media post in which he was highly critical of Haitian migrants and the hellhole that they came from.

Democrats and their media minions have been hypersensitive about their prized Haitians since unconfirmed reports that some of them may be eating pets drew attention to Springfield, Ohio, a midwestern city that has been overrun by 20,000 migrants from the impoverished and backward Caribbean island.

In a since-deleted post to X, Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA) remarked on actions by a Haitian nonprofit group that seeks to bring criminal charges against former President Donald J. Trump and running mate Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) over their saying mean things about the “newcomers” in Springfield.

“Lol. These Haitians are wild. Eating pets, vudu, nastiest country in the western hemisphere, cults, slapstick gangsters… but damned if they don’t feel all sophisticated now, filing charges against our President and VP,” Higgins wrote. “All these thugs better get their mind right and their ass out of our country before January 20th.”

Democrats went completely berserk with their standard shrieks of racism, condemning Higgins over his strong words about the Haitians, their culture, and their homeland which Trump once famously referred to as a “sh*thole” country.

“The disgusting statement by Clay Higgins about the Haitian community is vile, racist, and beneath the dignity of the United States House of Representatives. He must be held accountable for dishonorable conduct that is unbecoming of a Member of Congress,” raged House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) in a statement.

“Clay Higgins is an election-denying, conspiracy-peddling racial arsonist who is a disgrace to the Peoples House. This is who they have become,” Jeffries added, going on to besmirch Trump, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and throwing in the Project 2025 hoax for good measure.

Rep. Steven Horsford (D-NV) who heads up the racially exclusionary Congressional Black Caucus took his grievances with Higgins to the floor of the House, moving to censure his Republican colleague over the post.

“It is time to end hate and the rhetoric of hate,” Horsford said. “It is not becoming on any member to continue to push this type of rhetoric on any platform, let alone from the House of Representatives,” calling for lawmakers to approve his motion to censure Higgins by unanimous consent for “bringing discredit and disgrace” to the House, a real hoot considering the antics of his fellow Democrats.

The censure was rejected by Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) who explained that Higgins had already deleted the tweet and suggested that those who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

Higgins has a history of getting under the skin of Democrats for serving up his takes without sugar-coating and some would argue that there’s much truth in his triggering post about the Haitian migrants and their home country.
