House GOP to probe Zelenskyy’s campaigning for Kamala on the taxpayer dime

It’s not often that a foreign leader comes to the U.S. and stumps for a presidential candidate, in fact, it’s pretty much unprecedented and House Republicans want some answers.

On Wednesday, House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) announced that he’s investigating whether the Biden-Harris administration “attempted to use a foreign leader to benefit Vice President Harris’s presidential campaign.”

The Kentucky Republican was of course referring to Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy who’s on another stateside junket to beg for money, a dual-purpose visit with his having a vested interest in keeping the gravy train running by throwing his support behind Kamala Harris who would be a compliant puppet of the neocon war machine.

Zelenskyy has devoted part of his trip to trashing GOP vice presidential candidate Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) who’s been critical of the dangerous situation in Ukraine and hitting the key battleground state to promote Harris, stopping off at an ammunition plant where Democrat Governor Josh Shapiro signed missiles for Ukraine.

“Chairman Comer today is opening an investigation into the Biden-Harris Administration using taxpayer-funded resources to fly Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Pennsylvania to campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the 2024 presidential election,” the Oversight Committee said in a statement that points out that then-President Donald J. Trump was impeached over a phone call with the greedy Eastern European dwarf with Democrats accusing him of trying to “use a foreign leader to benefit his 2020 presidential campaign.”

“Now, the Biden-Harris Administration is flying the same foreign leader on an American-taxpayer-funded flight to Pennsylvania, a battleground state for Harris’s campaign,” the statement read. “If the Biden-Harris Administration attempted to use a foreign leader to benefit the Vice President’s presidential campaign, this is an abuse of power and misuse of taxpayer dollars.”

In a letter addressed to Attorney General Merrick Garland, Comer notes the DOJ’s focus on “combatting foreign election interference” and specifically mentions an interview that the Ukrainian leader gave to the New Yorker in which he was highly critical of the Trump-Vance ticket and insisted that Vance was “too radical”

“This rhetoric coming from a foreign leader released in anticipation of a U.S.-taxpayer-funded visit about the current Administration’s political opponent is highly concerning,” Comer wrote. “The Committee is investigating any coordination or communication among the Biden-Harris Administration, Pennsylvania’s Office of the Governor, and President Zelensky for use or solicitation of use of government property to politically benefit Vice President Harris’s presidential campaign.”

“Because the Department of Justice (DOJ), at your direction, is highly focused on combatting foreign election interference, the Committee requests DOJ review the Biden-Harris Administration’s coordination with the Ukrainian government regarding President Zelensky’s itinerary while in America,” the letter read.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and White House Counsel Edward Siske also received letters from the Oversight Committee’s boss.

Pennsylvania’s favorite son, Sen. John Fetterman had a profane response to Comer’s very legitimate questions about Zelenskyy’s political interference in the U.S. election as well as the legitimate role of the committee in performing oversight.

Fetterman’s staunch support of Israel has earned him high praise from conservatives but taking up for Ukraine and its begging leader is a much more divisive matter. While he’s right on some issues and arguably the sanest member of his party, the hoodie-clad galoot is still a team player at heart.

On Wednesday, the Biden-Harris administration welcomed Zelenskyy by pledging “unwavering support” and handing over another $375 million.
