After a break from the cameras that many in America considered a blessing, Dr. Anthony Fauci is back and he wants people to know it is “irrelevant” to him whether people idolize or demonize him for his role in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Furthermore, he has “absolutely nothing” to worry about if Republicans retake the House of Representatives in the midterm elections and haul him before a Congressional hearing.
Should the House revert to Republican control, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) has vowed to investigate the White House advisor.
“I have absolutely nothing to hide or nothing to be concerned about, of anything that I’ve done,” Fauci told Fox News’s Neil Cavuto during an interview, Friday, on “Your World.”
“So I never have been — and not now and will never be — afraid of hearings done in good faith in oversight,” Fauci insisted. “I mean, obviously, if you looked at some of the hearings, they’ve started off out of nowhere to be ad hominem attacks without even asking a reasonable question. And you know that, you’ve seen that, the clips of that, Neil.”
Presumably, Fauci was referring to, at least in part, his heated exchanges with Senator — and medical doctor — Rand Paul (R-KY), during which the senator grilled Fauci over gain-of-function research in the notorious Wuhan, China, lab.

Fauci also spoke to the effect on him of those who would demonize him for his actions with respect to the pandemic thus far.
“I’m a physician, I’m a scientist. I direct a very important institute, one that has been responsible for the most part, for the development of vaccines that have saved millions of lives already,” Fauci said. “I don’t think about it in terms of being a cult person and everybody idolizing me and being a controversial, polarizing figure where other people, you know, do these kinds of things that we’ve been talking about, about attacking me. Either end of that spectrum to me is irrelevant, Neil.”
“My job is what’s important…” he continued. “So the idea when you’re idolized, or you’re demonized, I meant that’s just a reflection of what’s going on in society and really has very little to do with what I am and who I am and what I do. So you may not believe it or appreciate it, but all of that other stuff is irrelevant. It’s my job and what I do, that’s important.”
It’s a good thing he feels that way about it, because Twitter users didn’t waste any time to “demonize” his appearance on the program.
“NO ONE IS BUYING ANYTHING THIS LIAR is shoveling!” exclaimed one user.
Sadly Neil brings on Dr Covid! NO ONE IS BUYING ANYTHING THIS LIAR is shoveling! https://t.co/mHK1QY49aR

“Narcissistic little weasel helped to destroy small businesses, the lives of millions of children, and created an unprecedented amount of mental health issues,” tweeted another.
And David Wohl announced, “Cavuto has Fauci on his show. As if you didn’t need yet another reason not to watch his horrible show.”
