For some odd reason, Jesse Watters invited convicted sex offender Anthony Weiner on his show to defend the Democratic Party, and while the disgraced former Democratic congressman had little use for President Biden, he still predicted that the American people would choose him over Donald Trump.
Weiner was convicted of sexting with a 15-year-old girl and now hosts a talk show with Curtis Sliwa, a former candidate for New York City mayor and the founder of the Guardian Angels.
“The Democratic Party’s a mess, they’ve mismanaged our money, our border and our streets. Most Democrats won’t defend their performance on our show, but one brave Democrat did and we believe in second chances,” Watters said to open the segment.
He began the interview that struggled to stay on the rails with a focus on crime, prompting Weiner to claim that crime in New York City is lower today than when Rudy Giuliani was mayor — the dirty little secret here is that cops don’t enforce crime with the same zeal they once did because they understand the perps will likely beat them back to the streets as a result of criminal-friendly Democratic prosecutors.
“You think Rudy Giuliani did a good job against crime? It’s 40% lower than it was the year he left,” Weiner said.
He also downplayed the widespread effort to defund the police following the death of drug addict George Floyd.
“Defund is kind of hot – that kind of implies you stop funding them,” Weiner said. “They’re big agencies [and] some of them took cuts; education took cuts…”
Switching to the wide-open southern border, Watters said, “They have an app, for illegals you can just make an appointment to break into the country.”
Weiner dishonestly suggested that seven million-plus illegal immigrants are here legally due to our asylum laws and even tried to blame that on former President Donald Trump.
“The asylees are here legally as part of the law… that was the Trump-era law…” Weiner insisted, before claiming more migrants are being stopped under Biden than under Trump.
What the Democrat does not mention is that the wave of humanity showing up on our doorstep is coached by organizers who steer them to the U.S. on what to say to make them eligible to apply for asylum — there is lots of talk about comprehensive immigration reform, but the reform needed is not to streamline the process of immigration but to lock it down and ensure that immigration that proves beneficial to the nation is prioritized.
As for Biden, Weiner said: “I have real problems with Joe Biden. I think Joe Biden is not a great spokesman for anything. I think he’s old, period.”
“However, he’s going to be running against a guy who literally tried to overturn the election, who is probably going to be in court or indicted or in jail by the time it’s a choice and I think most Americans, if there’s a rematch are going to choose Joe Biden,” he opined.
Watters closed the non-serious segment with a handshake while saying, “I probably shouldn’t be shaking your hand.”
